Note: The Past Within is a co-op only game. Both players need to own a copy of the game on their own device (mobile, tablet or computer), as well as a way to communicate with each other. Play together with a friend or find a partner on our official Discord server!
The past and future cannot be explored alone! Team up with a friend and piece together the mysteries surrounding Albert Vanderboom. Communicate what you see around you to help one another solve various puzzles and explore the worlds from different perspectives!
The Past Within is the first co-op only point-and-click adventure set in the mysterious world of Rusty Lake.

This game can only be played with 2 people, super lame. There should be a warning up front!

creepy, difficult, so much fun
my mom and I are big fans of the Rusty Lake games - we played all of them around the same time a few years ago. since then, I’ve moved to the other side of the country and we don’t see each other as much. today we played through this game in a little under 2 & a 1/2 hours: the puzzles are hard; the visuals are creepy; and it is the ultimate test of communication & patience between players. so much fun! wish there were a million more (so please continue making them) <3

Best coop phone game ever
Feed me more! Seriously please make more of these! So great to play with both my wife and oldest daughter. We all love mystery games and coop games, and this is the best of both worlds.
Each Path is the same … no matter what
Why are each paths identical? What the difference between the bee and the butterfly ? Why does it matter if you trust my partner or not ? What is the reason ??? It doesn’t change diddly squat!!!!!!
amazing game!
my sister and i have played this game twice now and took turns playing as the past and the future. it is super fun, with mystery, some gore, and problem solving. before we bought the game we played the lite version just to see if we would want it, and i’m so glad we ended up getting it! if you are thinking about getting it, you definitely should, it’s by far one of my favorite mystery games. one thing that i wish could be added though, would be other stories that you could play. i think this game has a ton of potential!!
