It has been improved and now works reasonably well. They did respond to comments and even contacted me to give advice about reinstalling. It is a very slow and clunky app. Stories are slow to load. Very little is seen in any screen to facilitate selection of larger story. Moving between sections is awkwardly designed. This is the best that can be done in premier high tech region? It has recently been , and I hesitate to use word, "upgraded", since that implies major change. It is not quite as slow and clunky so maybe gets a bit in a 2nd star. But sometimes it is necessary to tweak site in order to get stories to load. Getting current day's edition is a slow process but at least now it works, unlike before. Designers should check out how efficiently other newspaper sites work and aim for that standard. It has again been "upgraded", but still remains incredibly slow. Sometimes news stories will not load without shifting to other sections first. Why can't they get it right They can’t seem to get comics to be current date. Often they are up to a week out of synch. -- Wc reader xyzzy, 2025-01-08 ### *---- "Can I give zero stars?" I totally support legacy news, but the chronicle’s software is the most user-abusive that I’ve encountered. With my full subscription I ought to have online access, but No. The Chronicle ought to be ASHAMED! -- Beetle1999, 2025-01-08 ### ***** "Informative" I consider the paper to be well-crafted, relevant, and insightful. I'm particularly fond of the weather analysis. -- Agent Madison, 2025-01-02 ### ****- "Dark Mode Needed" I enjoy the articles, the sports coverage, and the columnists. But this app can be hard on the eyes and desperately needs a dark mode. All of that glaring white space makes it difficult to read. It would also benefit from an internal way to adjust the font size. -- Michael2149, 2024-12-31 ### ***-- "It’s… fine, but missing a lot of features" I really like the chronicle, but the app itself is really missing a lot of features that I expect with most modern iOS apps. There’s no dark mode, which is a shame because I read a lot of news at night and early mornings. There’s no control over the fonts. There’s no way to like, favorite, or save articles!! If it had these features it would actually be a pretty good app. I really hope they implement these features soon. -- Caleb J Prewitt, 2024-12-24 ### **--- "Poor Photos" Photo imagery is very poor. Cannot zoom in on photos. -- tvelt, 2024-12-22 ### *---- "Can’t log in" I’ve used this app for years. Today I got logged out and I can’t log in again. -- vernaldave, 2024-12-17 ### *---- "Access issues" Just signed up a few days ago and having intermittent access issues. Frustrating. -- Someone143p, 2024-12-12 [View all The San Francisco Chronicle reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## The San Francisco Chronicle In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | San Francisco Chronicle | $9.99 | | San Francisco Chronicle for iPad | $59.99 | | SF Chronicle Monthly | $14.99 | ## The San Francisco Chronicle Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Grossing | United States | News | #28 | | Top Free | United States | News | #144 | ## The San Francisco Chronicle Discovered Keywords - newspapers - chronicle - san francisco chronicle ## Apps Similar to The San Francisco Chronicle - [ABC7 Bay Area](https://apptail.io/app/abc7-bay-area-tW/united-states) - [The Press Democrat](https://apptail.io/app/the-press-democrat-Jdd/united-states) - [The Atlantic Magazine](https://apptail.io/app/the-atlantic-magazine-fpH/united-states) - [LA Times](https://apptail.io/app/la-times-HIL/united-states) - [KTVU FOX 2 San Francisco: News](https://apptail.io/app/ktvu-fox-2-san-francisco-news-xMjb/united-states) - [KRON4 News](https://apptail.io/app/kron4-news-JMjb/united-states) - [The Mercury News](https://apptail.io/app/the-mercury-news-hbkb/united-states) - [The Mercury News for Mobile](https://apptail.io/app/the-mercury-news-for-mobile-ibkb/united-states) - [NBC Bay Area: News & Weather](https://apptail.io/app/nbc-bay-area-news-weather-pbkb/united-states) - [KQED: Bay Area Culture & News](https://apptail.io/app/kqed-bay-area-culture-news-bIrb/united-states) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
