The SPOT satellite technology, powered by Globalstar, has initiated over 7,000 rescues around the globe. The SPOT App allows you to view messages sent from your SPOT device, track progress, or monitor assets. I look at all the recorded points and I can’t tell if I was coming or going. Not too difficult if you’re traveling in a straight line but if you aren’t you have to click on each point and look at the time then hunt around for the next point and look at the time/date. App said firmware needed to update but when I plugged the device in it was up to date. Device doesn’t show nor does the history on the app but the location shows on the website. I have yet to figure out how to set text alerts or notifications aside from email.
