The Sydney Morning Herald Reviews

Poor decision

HKgeek on

Singapore

In order to try and get away from iTunes and their 30% take, the nine media have created a pile of rubbish without offering anything new. I won’t be subscribing. Just use abc news now - which is free and has much better content.

Ruined

tzortzo54 on

Singapore

What used to be a fabulous app has been ruined by the latest version that resembles a shopping list rather than the full graphic presentation of earlier versions.

If “Quality Journalism” matters to you, then quickly sign up. SMH stories are their to enlighten you on topics that matter and crucially they are independent -not owned by billionaires that try to brainwash you with rubbish stories by low end reporters.

The app is garbage

Crimson Apple on

Australia

Video clips don’t play. The format is terrible, the most basic file structure clearly designed to push you to upping your subscription to pay for “Today’s Paper”. There’s no “Breaking News” even though SMH is no owned by Channel 9 - most of the articles are as old as yesterday’s newsprint. Was really hoping for a lot more…

A really good paper, honest, accurate and well written, keep up the good work

Quite a few technical shortcomings

3mmj4y on

Australia

The app is quite limited compared to accessing via a browser: - can’t zoom in to look at graphs/charts/images in greater detail - video aspect ratios are locked and don’t expand to fit full screen when you rotate your phone - news category sub headings aren’t actually links and won’t navigate you anywhere
