The Wall Street Journal. Reviews

WSJ has gone severely downhill

Travis Redman on

United States

No idea what has happened to this paper. It used to present the issues at hand without a big political bias. Now it has regular biases pushing pointless news that furthers one side or the others agenda. 0/10.

An objective news source

Streetman23 on

United States

Paying the $40 bucks a month for full access to digital Wall Street journal is worth it. They are objective in reporting, providing view point editorials from all spectrums. Just wish the app would stop slowing down and crashing when you use it more than 10 minutes consistently. I’m using the app on a iPhone XR

Poor

ReaderCapt on

United States

Mind bending how difficult it is to just log and use this app. Just terrible. Often just give up.

Issues with repeatedly signing in and VPNs

SomeGuy001 on

United States

I love the WSJ but the app has been a giant headache for months. I am repeatedly forced to sign in, often on an article-by-article basis, and this issue seems compounded by any use of VPN. Stop punishing VPN users for taking measures to preserve privacy

Good but needs better audio content settings

sickchilddr on

United States

As someone who likes to listen to audio content, the settings on the recorded versions of the stories has no speed adjustment or content that can be played on another app.

Improve Search

Deepa_awe on

United States

I really like the layout and navigation but Search capability is really bad. It’s very hard to search anything based on the headline you saw in a social medium post. The results are almost always wrong if you actually get any.

Memory Hog

AnonymousAnt1 on

United States

Perfectly fine app, you get what you expect from a newspaper app. But here’s my concern, why does a news app which updates articles regularly need 1.5GB of memory. What are you storing that’s bloating my iPhone memory? What not install a garbage collection feature or something similar.

Download feature is a step backwards

Chip Oidos on

United States

I am thrilled to be able to download an issue again. I can read the WSJ on the plane. However, the downloaded issue does not include graphics. The old iPad WSJ app downloaded the current issue automatically and included the graphics. The new version is not an improvement.

Still Terrible - Cancelled Subscription

BP407 on

United States

You clearly don’t listen to your users, so I’ve cancelled my 20+ year subscription. No sense in having something that is so terrible and glitchy to read the news. You refuse to bring back 13 - your choice. My choice to not give you recurring revenue. Also, FWIW, your typical subscribers are business people. Giving developer responses starting with “Hey” are way unprofessional. It’s no wonder that the app is in such shambles given that it sounds like you’ve got kids running the show with this verbiage.

Non functionality and no tech support

Mr. Punch Me In on

United States

WSJ stopped working completely. WSJ tech support could not fix. Even a new subscription would not work with iOS 15. No tech support response. Has WSJ abandoned iOS as a platform or just stopped technical support?
