A wonderful experience. The best thing about the way is Henry Shukman. He is an amazing guide along the path. Otherwise, everything you would expect from a meditation app.
By a long way the best meditation app I’ve ever used. Very simple step by step design, each stage builds upon the preceding ones. I feel like my practice has become deeper and more enjoyable since beginning to use the app each day. Great job, thank you.
This app has not only helped with my daily meditation practice, it has also been a great source of sangha and support. Henry Shukman is a true inspiration and like his books, poetry, and dharma talks, this app is another piece of the journey.
Takes you hand by hand through the path, wonderful guidance!
I’ve used a lot of meditation apps and have been practicing for awhile. The Way is a great introduction to meditation and helps deepen your own practice. The app is thoughtfully structured and it’s apparent that Henry has a deep practice along with a talent for teaching and helping others. This app is a great companion to an app like waking up and it’s especially great for those who resonate with daily progressive learning.
I have tried so many apps, and this is by far the best. You build on the skills you learn with each sit, and it takes the stress out of picking the perfect meditation each day. Absolutely incredible guidance from Henry. I can’t recommend it enough
Like others here, I first encountered Henry Shukman on the Waking Up app, which I’ve used for several years (and love).. the two apps complement each other beautifully. Waking Up is the spiritual library of your dreams; while The Way is much more of a personal, focused journey. I’ve practiced meditation with a number of teachers throughout my life over decades, but somehow Henry is getting through to me in a profound way. There is so much loving kindness in his voice and instructions. I often find myself on the edge of tears and /or able to relax and let go more fully. And I’m grasping ideas with both mind and heart. There are subtleties that he’s able to convey with so few words. Honestly I feel so much gratitude for this app. PS I went out and got the Audible edition of his book, which is also outstanding.
I like this app because you don’t have to decide which meditation to do. You just do the next one.
Having a regular practice for many years does not qualify me as an expert. In the contrary. In my experience the deeper I go the more questions that arise. I’ve not tended to use apps but…Following Henry’s path is a lovely adjunct with clear, beautiful sharing along the way. So grateful for this app
Unlike other apps in which you have myriad choices but no “path”, Henry has a clear, structured, and gentle approach that’s easy to get on board with and stick to. Not too much “woo” (a little can’t be avoided) and no religious dogma. And his voice exudes calm and kindness. His books are great too, especially as audio (he’s the narrator).
