These enable it to answer questions which Atlases and fact books cannot: Atlases show you where countries are located, but have very little information about them; fact books tell you about each country, but their maps leave you guessing about where places are located. ___________ HOW IT WORKS ___________ The interface is animated and interactive. Touch a country on the world map and the Retina vector country map opens while the factbook slides onto the screen, each topic neatly organized as tiles along the edge of the map. Touch a factbook tile and it zooms out to reveal detailed information about that topic. Not sure where a country is located? Select it on the drop-down list and The World HD zooms in on it then opens the map and factbook. The zoomable world map is not just the fastest way to select a country it also enables you to visualize and understand entire regions. Si on veut un plan il y a maps ou google maps. Les informations des pays sont très complètes. Même si les données de la CIA datent un peu. Il est dommage qu'on ne puisse pas configurer le langage de la page Wikipedia. Il faudra alors que soit créé un atlas des îles du monde... - Le zoom ne fait que dilater les cartes, avec lenteur. - Manque les principales lignes de chemin de fer (sauf erreur, il y en a aucune - alors qu'en Afrique par ex, c'est un élément géographique important). - A l'heure où j'écris ces lignes, la nouvelle nation du sud-soudan n'est pas disponible alors qu'elle l'est sur National geographic HD. - Manque la possibilité d'un index personnel. J'ai world fact sur iPhone et j'en suis très content, ici on retrouve les mêmes informations a part qu'il manque un peu de contenu mais la prochaine update comblera cette lacune. La ballade sur la carte complétée par l'accès direct à wikipedia en français, c'est bon pour son bilan carbonne! -- Sophokle, 2010-10-16 ### **--- "Bof" Pas trop mal pour toutes les données chiffrées, mais les textes viennent de la CIA donc on se retrouve avec: - une vision purement occidentale (les pays existent qu'à partir de leur "découverte" par les européens et les "problèmes" qu'ils ont posé) - données partiales sur les pays "ennemis", pas fausses en tant que telles, mais leur pendant pour des pays "amis" ou "occidentaux" n'existe pas toujours (par exemple c'est beau de dire que tel ou tel pays est un lieu de passage du trafic d'êtres humains ou de drogue, mais au final qui les exploite ou consomme la drogue, bref l'utilisateur final ?)
