“Things offers the best combination of design and functionality of any app we tested, with nearly all the features of other power user applications and a delightful interface that never gets in the way of your work.”
—Wirecutter, The New York Times

KEY FEATURES
• Your To-Dos
Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps.
• Your Projects
Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule.
• Your Areas
Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion.
• Your Plan
Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :)

MORE THINGS TO LOVE
As you dive deeper, you’ll find Things packed with helpful features. Here are just a few:
• Reminders — set a time and Things will remind you.
• Repeaters — automatically repeat to-dos on a schedule you set.
• This Evening — a special place for your evening plans.
• Calendar integration — see your events and to-dos together.
• Tags — categorize your to-dos and quickly filter lists.
• Quick Find — instantly find to-dos or switch between lists.
• Magic Plus — drag the + button to insert to-dos anywhere in a list.
• Share extension — create to-dos with content from other apps.
• Widgets — see lists on your home/lock screens.
• Mail to Things — forward an email to Things; now it’s a to-do.
• Markdown — structure & style your notes.
• And much more!

MADE FOR IPHONE
Things is tailored to the iPhone with deep system integrations as well. A great example is the Share extension, which allows you to create to-dos with content from other apps, such as a link to a website you want to get back to.
You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, add a variety of widgets, create to-dos via Siri, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows.

MADE FOR APPLE WATCH
Things comes with a great app for Apple Watch. Just raise your wrist to glance at your Today list, mark to-dos complete as you go, and dictate new ones on the fly—all synced instantly with your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGN
Made in Stuttgart, with two Apple Design Awards to its name, Things is a fine example of German engineering: designed not only to look fantastic, but to be perfectly functional as well. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, then polished to perfection.
“It’s like the unicorn of productivity tools: deep enough for serious work, surprisingly easy to use, and gorgeous enough to enjoy staring at.”
—Apple

Things 3 Reviews

Amazing

I have never had a “productivity” app stick, but this one is so stupid simple my peanut brain can actually make use of it. I think I’m only using 20% of what it is capable of but it works great as just an advanced checklist. Syncs flawlessly between Mac and iOS 10/10 would buy again.

Scam

Lorynnnnnnnn on

United States

Requested a refund less than an hour after getting the app as it kept giving me an error when trying to upload my calendar and connect other things. With this error the app is useless. Scam.

Where had this been all my life?

I am instantly way more productive thanks to its intuitive layout. Other apps I’ve tried do not compare. Thank you, thank you!

AI

I came here to see if the AI features will work with this app and they’re already working on it, so cool! since i had nothing to ask i decided to leave a review since the dev team is on top of things.

Love this app!

dcgqueen on

United States

This app is great for managing daily tasks, repeating commitments, and projects. I love the Tag feature to help me plan and search for items. I also like how it shows calendar items for the day and moves incomplete items from one day to the next so I don’t have to do that manually. Reminders are great for time-sensitive tasks. The entire app is helpful, intuitive, and robust. Would love to see additional options besides This Evening such as This Morning, Lunch Break, and This Afternoon so I could plan my tasks chronologically. Fantastic app, couldn’t manage my life without it!!!

Years behind!

HeresMyTwoCents on

Hard to believe that, even after all these years of asking, you still can't finish a recurring task early. Any task that is set to recur after completion simply cannot be checked off before it is due. So if you happen to change the oil in your car a couple of weeks early, you have to wait two weeks before you can mark it done. Absolutely stupid!!!

No updates

Its kind of a dead app dont expect any meaningful updates or improvements

Overpriced and useless

FAHH~Q on

This app is bizarre it makes no sense, to say it syncs up with your calendar in some coherent way is a laugh. I can’t actually tell what purpose this app even serves besides trying to mimick Apple Reminders and THATS IT. What a waste and a joke. Developer must have slept with an Apple Executive to get promoted because this app is a pile of incomprehensible garbage.

Great app if you want to create a list, and don’t have a pencil and paper handy

JQKY on

Otherwise, this app is not very useful. Developers claim they want to keep it simple. Why not start with a simple project and list format Can get very complicated for even a simple heading and sub-heading entry. I lost my money years ago, but still use it for several lists I keep. Beyond that task, it just doesn’t have any useful features. Can’t even import a photo. Save your money and purchase a nice spiral notebook. Also, buy some scotch tape to tape a photo to a page.

Perfect app (for personal use)

I love Things 3. I have been a user since previous iterations and this app helped me through college to bring structure to my day. If you don’t work in a team, Things 3 is everything you need. It has it all: beautiful looks, intuitive, easy to use, powerful, integrates with your calendar, and features a universal shortcut to create new tasks (though I wish its natural language input were as good as Todoist). That said, if you need to share projects and see other people’s tasks, then Things 3 is not for you as it doesn’t support team collaboration. If it did it would be the perfect app all around. I hope they implement that capability in the near future.
