This fun and interactive app will help you explore Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and learn about its natural and built heritage, its archaeology and lesser-known industrial history, together with past traditions and practices. As walking is the main way of accessing many of the peninsula’s special features, this app is packed with many walking trails, varying in length and theme for you to explore. Along the way you will encounter places of interest that reveal Gower’s past; read fascinating stories, view enchanting photographs and hear directly from local people, known as Gowerians, as well as others who share their passion and expertise with you and who have brought this app to life through the audio clips. Features: - Maps and directions for 17 walking trails of varying distance and themes, with GPS tracking - Fascinating information about over 80 places of interest that make Gower unique - Audio snippets from ‘Gowerians’ and other people who are passionate about Gower - Create your own virtual postcard and share it with your friends and family - Accessibility settings - change colours/fonts, English or Welsh language - Collect badges for places visited This app makes use of GPS to show you places of interest close to your current location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. ## This is Gower Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/0a/10/1c/0a101c2f-ba73-71c6-d4fa-93b4499c831b/mzl.buwzrryr.jpg/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/65/56/aa/6556aabe-f56a-8307-54b6-49bce0d87bad/mzl.nyvhtzbl.jpg/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple123/v4/2a/a4/54/2aa4540e-0fb1-edc4-7c52-321b8d17fbf6/mzl.syeuxsxk.jpg/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/82/6b/5a/826b5af8-09eb-7d8f-dce3-654a77e4ddf3/mzl.pbutgduj.jpg/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple123/v4/ca/24/c5/ca24c56d-535d-5bd2-6cda-e20760930864/mzl.scpervzs.jpg/640x960.png) ## This is Gower Rating Breakdown in United Kingdom - 5 stars: 8 (100%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 0 (0%) ## This is Gower Reviews in United Kingdom ### ***** "How do we collect the badges?" Anyone know how to collect the badges? I can navigate to the badges page where is shows the different categories, we can read about each one, but we can’t ever seem to actually collect the badge. -- Z0zzy, 2025-08-29 ### ***** "Brilliantly simple" It’s main feature for me are the walking trails. You choose one and open it up, and adjoining each other are the pages for the description and for the map of the walk. Once enabled in the app’s settings, the map will track you as you go, keeping you on the trail. This sounds so simple, but as someone who is terrible with maps and directions I can’t overemphasise how great it is to have a simple free app that does exactly what it says it does and works for ordinary people. -- Macjackb, 2018-09-10 ### ***** "Brilliant app for exploring Gower" I have been waiting for this app for months since it was shown on Countryfile. It is as good as demonstrated then. Brilliant! Thanks -- Baralawr, 2015-02-28 ### ***** "Brill app" Totally recommend this app to people who love walking. 👌👌 -- Jackberesford, 2015-01-30 [View all This is Gower reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to This is Gower -
