Thisissand was created in 2008 as a website. It was a school project of a few art students, and to a surprise for the creators it attracted lots of visitors for years to come. In 2012 Thisissand was developed into an app and is still run by an original founder.
Thisissand offers different kinds of tools for choosing the sand color. Originally and still at the moment on Thisissand website, only the essential Color Palette tool is available. For the app, we have developed a few special kinds of tools which we offer in the Toolkit in-app purchase. Just like on the website, the special tools are not at all necessary to enjoy the app, but they're pretty cool and we're happy and thankful for your support if you're willing to try them out!
COLOR PALETTE: Use Color Palette to choose specific colors from a vast swatch of colors. You may choose a solid color, or multiple colors to variate between. Use the intensity slider to adjust how fast the colors change. You may also use the randomize button to get surprising color combos.
COLOR SHIFTER: Color Shifter continuously changes the sand color subtly or dramatically depending on the intensity slider adjustment. Color Shifter often produces rainbow like hues. To set the initial Color Shifter color, choose a color with Color Palette and then select the Color Shifter tool.
COLOR PICKER: With Color Picker, you may pick the sand color from around you using your device camera. It takes a little practice to point your camera and draw at the same time, but in return you get truly unique colors. Try adjusting the color change intensity low in the beginning to keep things under control!
PHOTO SAND: Want to try making a sand version of one of your photos? Photo Sand picks the sand color directly from the photo you've chosen from your camera roll. Try it out and learn the tricks to make abstract and/or photorealistic representations!
MY COLORS: Save your favorite colors in My Colors and access them quickly by long pressing the color button on the sand canvas. Try saving colors from around with Color Picker!

I did that for no reason(I mean the title) this app is very very great pretty good way to make art super fun and creative app I would give this app 6 stars if there was an extra slot or a sixth star I don’t know where to put this (pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis)

I love this app so much. I have recommended it to so many of my friends, and family. My school actually introduced it to me, and my friend told me I was able to download it on my devices. This game is literally Chefs kiss. 😉 enjoy!

Thisissand
Thisissand is a fun game that allows you to make art and view other people’s art. I’ve known the app for a long time(since 1st grade) and I have enjoyed it since. Thisissand has many great features but one thing I did not like was the in-app purchases. The app had features that allowed you to create art using a photo for extra help but that cost money. I didn’t purchase this because I found it a waste of money. Why can’t we make art without having to pay for the feature? The app should be a fun and engaging way to be creative and find inspiration by seeing other people’s artwork; it shouldn’t cost money. Other than the in-app purchases, Thisissand is a very fun game to play especially on long car rides and when you’re bored😁
A great game, but
I think everything in the game should be possible and free. I think they should add some music but make it optional and I think they should add more colors. It’s so fine and so creative but I feel like you should be able to do everything.
Life changing app 10 billion stars
When I was at school, everybody in my entire class was playing it and like every Other game I thought it was a dumb rip off game of a different game but then when I played it everything I made got into popular 24 hours and then I asked my mom if I played it on her phone, she said yes I have bought literally every single add-on my old username used to be the best but now my name is Superboy 1950s and it is the best game ever. It is life-changing I have made so much things only thing I want to change is that you know how much likes you have that’s it please make the changes if you can thank you for the app is the best app I have ever played and I give 10 billion stars
Nice app
I’ve had this since 2019 but I didn’t start posting art seriously until 2022. So far it’s pretty good. I just have one lil suggestion.. Maybe an undo button or an eraser cuz sometimes I have to delete imperfect pieces. Other than that it’s a good app <33 -Kindofabigdeal/Lxyla
