## Thorium Reader Reviews in United States

### **--- "Shortfalls"
I am currently using this reader app because this is the only way that I could check a digital book out from my university library. While I appreciate the ability to read the text, I do have ADHD and dyslexia and accessibility functions are lacking. It can read to me which can help me better understand the material versus reading myself. For best comprehension I need to both hear and read along. I am not able to do that in this app. I am not sure if this is a function of the reader or a limitation of the book itself. This is an area where the developers could really improve the app.

### ****- "New go-to for epubs"
Just downloaded it, love the simplicity. Range of choices is just enough without complicating the reading experience. 👍👍
-- Secret1964, 2026-08-23

### *---- "Third party programs used"
I see that there are a lot of third party programs used, among them some from Google. You say some data is collected but not personally linked? Data shared with google? What data? If using google, how much privacy?
-- CarloCrivelli15, 2026-08-14

### ****- "Very promising!"
I’ve been looking for a replacement for Readest since they’ve started paywalling some essential features.

So far, I really like Thorium reader! Like a previous user said, highlighting would be a nice feature to have. But, that appears to be in process.

Additionally, I’d like to see scroll mode on iOS and a sync functionality with desktop. Particularly WebDAV.

Overall, I really like what I’m seeing! I do think the mobile app is much more refined design-wise than the desktop app. I find the Mac desktop app (intel) a bit clunky and not very visually appealing.

### **--- "Promising but could use more tweaks"
It has the potential to be great but I need more font options but more importantly, I need a highlighting function.
