To buy merchandise no problem! but to sell clothes not a great place to go to because if you do not pick the premium option so you can decide to your items return back to you- the company employees determine what is acceptable to sell and their is no notification why even though the clothes are still new or great condition and not apart a certain companies or brands that they do sell because of mass production. So, the company state that it is sent it recycling, donate or everything. Measurements are off, flaws are missed, and you can’t return it without a fee. Things go missing from bags you sent in, and then for sale but not under your account—You’ll know if you send something unique. Thred up also shadow lists your items, hoping you won’t ask for it back & they’ll get all the profit for themselves. They’ll lie about not accepting bags at this time, but still be taking them from new users. Be aware you can only use one promo code per cart, they don’t stack. This means you’ll forgo your “rewards” for whatever code is onsite. The search function recently stopped returning items of any relevance if it’s not one of the brand names. They price items so low that your profits would never actually exceed the shipping costs so you make nothing! Misleading bait and switch! -- Kimmyk09, 2024-12-29 ### **--- "Terrible for Sellers; Mostly Good for Buyers" I’ve been on both sides of thred up of both buying and selling. When buying clothes, if you are careful and spend a lot of time on searching, you can get some great pieces. HOWEVER, if you are looking to sell on their platform, it is Not worth it and I’d recommend selling elsewhere or on your own. Firstly, less than have of my items ended up being processed and the rest of my items magically disappeared. Secondly, a $17.98 shipping and handling charge gets taken out of any profits you make (processing took them 3 months for my clothes..2 months longer than they projected) and a higher charge if you want it expedited. Additionally the percentage of profit you make for items sold is puny. Of the items they posted, 1 had a 17.9% payout while the other 9 pieces were at a measly 2.1% payout of the listed price. After two of my items sold and I realized that I would not be making any money at all, I decided I would re-list at the minimum price they’d allow me to which was $5.99…all I can say is 7 people bought the rest of my pieces immediately and for cheap so I’m glad that at least they got something nice out of the transaction :) -- sarah841, 2024-12-28 ### **--- "Love thred up but CONSTANTLY having problems on the app" Not so long ago i wrote a negative review about this app because of a technical issue. That has since been resolved but now there is an annoying feature added where if you search for clothing it will show you the items in someone’s cart. Best part is you can’t toggle it. Another issue I’ve been having is that the app kicks me off every couple of minutes. These issues have made me spend significantly less time on the app and I haven’t bought anything for half a year (I used to buy every other month). Please fix this.
