All-in-all very good
Love the ease of listening by forming playlists, etc. Strange inclusion of alternate versions of certain pieces. I’m just not interested in those without the original recording. Lacks in classical reference recordings. Still a really good service that seems to have the customer at heart. That’s much appreciated!
Great streaming
The app is easy to use, much more intuitive than Apple Music. Of course, the sound quality blows Spotify out of the water. I like that they pay artists better, and now ther the price equals the other services there is no excuse not to use Tidal. I wish it had a Now Playing widget.
Great sound quality, flaky app
Love that I can get a hi-fi music service and LOVE the new pricing but the app flakes out on me, regularly. CarPlay often fails. Tidal Connect, which links my phone to the WiiM Mini I use with my stereo, just stopped working, period.
The problems I have with Tidal on my phone are severe enough that I vigilantly keep an eye out for Spotify Hi-Fi’s arrival.
Any app that would be as reliable as pressing play or dropping the needle on a record will be an instant, lifelong win for me. I haaaaaate arguing with computers and it’s what I do for a living. Why should I have to do that just to play a song?
Better Sound; UI/UX Needs Polished
Sound quality is awesome; no arguments there.
CarPlay integration is not as good as Spotify. My Collection > Tracks list is truncated for some reason, even though all tracks show up under downloads.
Handoff between Car and Phone is hit-or-miss. Phone sometimes keeps playing after car is turned off (music should pause).
Siri search doesn’t seem to work for some reason?
Little things but they all add up. I’m not sure if the improved audio outweighs the UI/UX for Spotify or Apple Music.
I love Tidal but cannot find how to get the dj extension.
My app and online account does not give me the option for the dj extension. I trying to gove TIDAL
MONEY AND IT SEEMS THEY DON’T WANT TO TAKE.
Please help. There isnt a number we can call for customer service and need to wait 25 hours for a reply via email. This is horrible when you want help now.
Decent
I like the layout a lot. I like the sound quality a lot. But i do not like how i often have to close & reopen the app to get a song to play. It has nothing to do with loading, it simply doesn’t play sometimes, (Often.) I thought updates would fix this and it hasn’t. I love the playlist & folder capabilities & the home page is elite to find new songs & albums.
Mandatory Updates!?!
EVERY time there is an update the app limit the ability to play in background until you preform the update. This needs to be fixed or I’m going to stop paying for the service.
App could be better
Search function renders poor results.
Inconsistent library, randomly disallows playing previously liked songs
Tidal is that girlllllllll
Yall I’ve been rocking with tidal for almost a decade now. We had our little ups/downs and cancel/resubscribe moments but I can honestly say there’s no other streaming service I feel is worth the subscription. The app is constantly upgrading which is only fitting with the times. They take feedback and apply it so don’t be afraid to voice any concerns you’re having with the app (best believe I voice mines). Tidal also pays artists the most out of all music streaming services so supporting tidal is supporting your favorite artists. Yall stay sleep if you want to.
Use to be good
Tidal recently made some major changes to their subscription model. First they remove the Free plan, which would allow you to listen to music if you listened to ads. Cool, I’m good with that. It actually worked really well. Well, Tidal removed the Free Tier. Next, they removed Military and First Responder discounted plans. Now, if they were losing money on this, I get it, but here’s the deal. Tidal kept the Student discounted plan, while removing the Military and First Responder discounted plans. In my opinion, this is a slap in the face to all Police and Military people. It would be less offensive if they had removed the Student discounted plan as well, but to keep it and remove the others is ridiculous.
