ABOUT PREDICTIONS
Predictions are based on the harmonic method, using constants from the Hydro offices (UKHO, SHOM, NOAA, BOM, CHS etc). There are differences between the app predictions and the official Hydro office tide tables, as these are based on large numbers of constants that are not made publicly available. The Hydro offices consider the harmonic methods used in this product appropriate for navigation.
Always consult tidal curves and take into account local weather (pressure and wind) and swell conditions, which can have a very significant effect on sea water levels.

Tides Planner Reviews

Superb

Fed Up With Trying on

United Kingdom

This is one of the few apps where it’s worth making in-app (inexpensive) purchases. Contains a wealth of information far beyond basic tide tables that has been of immense help to my passage planning around the UK over the last 6 seasons. Very easily used by those who can be bothered to make the slight effort required to understand how to use the wide variety of features.

Not easy to use

nickernammer on

United Kingdom

I bought the tides for 2025. I go to the dates but it won’t let me enter a date just swings back to 2010. I have no way to access 2025. Suppose I’ll have to buy 2024. What a waste of £6.99

Misleading! Be warned about paying for extras!

JwoodieJ on

United Kingdom

I was happy to pay extra for tide data beyond one day. Paid £6.99 for the 2024 tide data, only to find out that limits you to 7 days, and you need to pay extra to see other dates in 2024!. This really wasn’t made clear when purchasing. extremely misleading pricing policy with no way to cancel/refund. Very disappointed given how trusted Imray are in the chart world!

Greedflation?

SkyePlayer on

United Kingdom

So the annual license has increased from £3.99 to £5.99? I don’t see any increase in functionality… just an unnecessary increase in cost. Disappointed

Faulty Setting

is46664 on

United Kingdom

This is a good app except I think there is a fault. The depth scale on the right hand side doesn’t lock and it’s easy to alter the configuration without knowing.

License not working as written

eusyot on

United Kingdom

I spent £12 to buy two licences, as per the instructions, which promised “any day” tide data: the annual license and the Hydographic Tidal stream atlas Yet, despite having both licenses installed I still only get 1 week in advance

My first reference point for Tides and Tidal Streams

An excellent app for tides and currents. Well worth the few pounds it cosst each year and my first reference point for passage planning.

Excellent tide App, I’ve used it for several years

The PQ on

United Kingdom

I just spotted to negative reviews here after recommending this app to a friend. I use this app for navigating my 2.3m draft fin keel yacht around the East Coast, it’s a critical part of my navigation procedure and wouldn’t be without out. I also use it daily for paddle boarding in the Thames Estuary and river Crouch/Roach area, again, I wouldn’t be without it in this shallow and highly tidal area. I also use it when away elsewhere in the UK surfing, paddleboarding and sailing. Two years ago sailing from the Pool to the Crouch it was the perfect tide app for my navigation. This is an excellent app and if you need a detailed and comprehensive tidal app then this is the one I recommend. It is easy to use, comprehensive, reliable and I will continue to subscribe to it for as many years as I sail, paddle and surf in the UK’s tidal waters.

Excellent data, quirky clumsy UI

Aplord on

United Kingdom

This provides all the data you would expect from an app of this sort. Data is very reasonably priced, per year and per geographical region. I use this app a lot. Yet I find myself cursing its odd user interface. When one gesture should be enough, I’ll find myself making several presses and cursing a wrong turn. I always get what I need in the end, but often with frustration. A short exercise in UI and UX design would see this app elevated to magical status. Come on Imray, have a go!

Worth every penny

gregmad001 on

Purchased app just before a trip to Orkney and Shetland. I started using it to check on my planning but ended up using exclusively. It proved invaluable dealing with the strong currents especially when moving around the Orkney Isles and crossing the Pentland Firth
