Tides US Reviews

Easy to look at. Not easy to program.

Herodotus Bartleby on

United States

I like how this app gets right to the point (unlike the Wolfram Alpha tide app). But programming it to accept a new location was difficult, and I have had to settle for measurements in meters, because the tool for switching to other units doesn’t seem to work.

Can’t add ports so app is useless so far

salliesatt on

United States

The list of Your Ports comes pre-stocked with a place I never heard of. There are no instructions. I press the menu button and it opens Your Ports (no other options). I press the plus sign button, and nothing happens. Have tried multiple times over several days.

Ok app

Nice Graphics, but...

Bugs: 1. Can't scroll to future days. 2. App doesn't take local time zone into account. It seems to be stuck on EST.

Love it, But...

I want to select another date, but have to wait until midnight. Other than that it looks good and is accurate.

Simple

Kjpsu68 on

Very easy to use, simple to understand. Use for fishing Eastern Florida inshore flats. Seems to be accurate for my use.

Nope

K.j.t.f.ftyjfddthfseu))75:;$& on

United States

Tide time seems accurate tide height is 4' too high. Puget sound / substation. Looking ahead, calendar defaults to May 2015. Deleting app.

Tides are offset and not correct

CptnDave on

United States

I am looking at Puget Sound tide stations like Seattle and Friday Harbor and they are clearly offset by about 5 hours. This makes the app unreliable and useless. On top of that there are no settings for feet instead of meters for units.

App displays wrong units of measurement

Tome Loc on

United States

I looked up the tidal data for Santa Monica, CA. The app displayed 5.4M for the high tide. The NOAA data feed was actually 5.4 feet. There was no way to specify which units of measurement should be used. In the United States the default measurement should be feet. If the app is going to use M as the unit of measure then the data should be converted accordingly. Also I second the comment that secondary stations should be added.
