Travelers are constantly bombarded with misguided anecdotal advice from non-experts on how to alleviate jet lag. It's time to replace the myths with tested and validated circadian science.

Timeshifter is the leader in circadian technology, uniquely offering the only scientifically-validated advice proven to quickly adjust you to new time zones and alleviate jet lag symptoms.

In your brain, you have a 24-hour circadian clock that regulates nearly all of your biological functions. Jet lag is caused when your sleep/wake and light/dark cycle shift too quickly for your circadian clock to keep up. The only way to reduce jet lag quickly is by shifting your circadian clock to the new time zone.

Light is the most important time cue for “shifting” your circadian clock. Light exposure and avoidance, at the right time, will significantly accelerate your adaptation. Seeing or avoiding light at the wrong time — as often recommended by non-experts — will shift your circadian clock the wrong way – away from your new time zone – making your jet lag worse.

Timeshifter helps you eliminate jet lag by addressing the underlying cause – the disruption of your circadian clock – as well as alleviate the disruptive symptoms, such as insomnia, sleepiness and digestive discomfort.

Timeshifter’s benefits are well established. Based on ~130,000 post-flight surveys, 96.4% of the travelers who followed Timeshifter's advice did not struggle with severe or very severe jet lag. When NOT following the advice, there was a 6.2x increase in severe or very severe jet lag, and a 14.1x increase in very severe jet lag.

Great app for minimising jet lag.

MQDo27 on

Was very useful travelling from Sydney to NYC. Previous trips across multiple timezones (ie London to Sydney) resulted in awful jetlag for me however this time round any jet lag was insignificant and barely noticeable. I tried to stick to the app as best I could and I think the light exposure + caffeine use helped me the most. Being advised when to use melatonin was also beneficial. As a irregular traveler I wish there was a pay per trip kind of system instead of an annual subscription however the 1st trip free certainly proved the usefulness of timeshifter. Will definitely use it in the future

It works!!

I recently flew east from Sydney to Boston via LA. 20 hours of flying! I followed the plan accurately at home before I left, and on arrival jet lag was minimal. I’m a fan now and will use Timeshifter on my long international flights. I think the price is well worth the return of not having to suffer through days of jet lag.

Game changer

MuddyOx on

I was sceptical but this app is a game changer. Ive done 2 long-haul trips from Australia to Europe in the last 6 months & followed the app recommendations the best I could each time. I’d say approx 70% compliance on my behalf, & the reduction in jet lag symptoms is unbelievable. Do yourself a favour & use the free trial to see for yourself.

Can’t recommend this enough

Even though I didn’t follow the app perfectly I still had pretty much no jet lag in trip to Europe. Before I used the app I would wake up at 4-5am on the first day of a trip to Europe, but with this app I was able to stay up late and wake up at normal times! I’ve recommended this to all my friends travelling this year.

It worked

Followed the advice closely (not easy too do) and my jet lag was basically non existent. If you really commit to their advice, it can save you a few days of pain.

Life saver!

I nearly stopped long flights because I suffered from jet lag. I used Timeshifter for the first time and adjusted to travel from USA to Australia beautifully. Highly recommend giving it a go.

It works!

We tried Timeshifter for the first time on our recent trip from Sydney to NYC. We followed the instructions and can confirm it works. We normally always get jet lag but not this time. We will continue to use Timeshifter and recommend it.

Basic App. Could just be web page.

The science behind the app is sound, and the display is quite nice, but it really isn’t doing anything special on an iPhone. It’s pretty clear that this is the result of a generic cross-platform app development process. There are no widgets, no Apple Apple Watch component, no calendar integration. It all feels very old-fashioned. As a result I don’t think they can really justify the price. If they had better ecosystem integration then maybe, but honestly once you’ve done one trip, you kinda get the gist.

Perfect for long-haul traveling

brightmind on

I’ve had a few flights around 23 hours long in total, the time difference was 7 hours. I’ve given it a go and followed all the instructions that the app showed me, based on my itinerary. I had no trouble falling asleep and didn’t feel exhausted upon arrival after following the TimeShifter app instructions. So I guess it works, I had no jetlag at all.

Best UK-Aus recovery in 25 years

Voddo123 on

I met a new friend on my plane to England from Australia a month ago, who told me about Timeshifter. app SoI tried it (with melatonin) on the way back and can genuinely report the least jet lag that I’ve ever experienced going England - Australia in 25 years of doing the trip regularly. Normally it takes me a good week to recover but I honestly felt fine from day 1 this time. Highly recommend.
