I am unable to buy a desert or beach home despite exploring the ENTIRE second island (even the ziggurat and the seashell lighthouse). I guess it’s because the quest that allows it will not show up due to the screen only showing 3 quests at a time. Someone else mentioned having this experience so it’s a problem with the game itself.
