It’s a fine little app with a couple of ridiculous vexing choices. First, if you want to have an account and get some sort of benefit, you need to enter a phone number. Nope. We already have a relationship through the App Store. I don’t give my phone number to anyone I don’t believe has a reason and permission to call me. What’s up with that nonsense? Then, if one wants to “follow” a strip, a balloon appears, demanding, “You need to go to Settings and allow Notifications.” No, I don’t. And I won’t, since you demanded it. Perhaps I’d respond differently to an invitation to be made aware when my favorite cartoon has new content for me. That’s different, isn’t it? Perhaps in future versions, they will be more respectful. -- anomalink, 2023-09-05 ### ****- "Great artists on board, great concept model, app/service needs more features" First off this is a great model for webcomics. The artists get paid, I don’t have to deal with ads, and the subscription costs are reasonable vs something like subbing to a dozen patreons. The app/service really needs a few more features like RSS or email digests (make these premium, I’d pay more for them!). Also an iPad app! Seriously these days why build iPhone only? I wanted to branch out a little and try something new, but the app makes it way too hard to read the comics. When they named it “TinyView” I had no idea they meant it literally. I can’t read the comics since the text is too small, but that’s only when you manage to get to a comic. There’s no scrolling view of comics to view, just links to comics, which means there’s lots of tapping and scrolling just to get you to the opportunity to view a comic. The final blow was when it forced me to turn on notifications and then spammed my phone with notifications.
