Makes from your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and/or Macbook a complete GPS device with detailed topographic maps. Viewed maps will be stored on your device so that Topo GPS can also be used offline.

Why should you buy an expensive GPS device if you can install Topo GPS? Topo GPS contains all functions of a regular GPS device for less money, has a much more detailed map, and is more convenient to operate. The accuracy of the position determination is in favorable conditions about 5 m.

If you are recording a route, the GPS will run in the background. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Great for an old orienteerer without a compass

I used to compete in orienteering races. This is like an orienteering map, but easier because it shows where you are.

It doesn’t work as promised

Instead of being able to use the maps I purchased I get a message suggesting that I should buy other maps. This message blocks part of the display. When I try to restore previously purchased maps, I get an error message saying that this failed without any details or suggestions of how to fix it.

Takes forever to download maps

Took me 3 hours to just download an area of 1.8GB

Decent app, but could use some improvement

Overall the app is good for what you get. Could benefit from a redesign though to a slightly more simple and modern design. It would also be nice to mark points and routes through the watch app itself and not just through the phone app. I think if the UI was improved and those features were added, this app could compete against some of the larger more popular apps. Looking forward to future development!

Excellent usable map. I have used to plan projects on my property.

Its a bait and switch

You must pay money just for a map - and that map is available free elsewhere - there are no trails - no user defined info. Do not get suckered into this scam.
