Neben der schnellen und einfachen Evaluierung zeichnet sich der Ansatz vor allem durch eine signifikant verminderte Fehlerrate gegenüber papierbasierten OSCEs aus, da die Antworten nicht manuell übertragen und ausgewertet werden müssen. Zusätzlich erhöht tOSCE die Rechtssicherheit, da im Hintergrund automatisch alle Eingaben als Screenshots gespeichert werden, die eine exakte und neutrale Dokumentation ermöglichen. Details: Die Prüfungen werden zunächst in dem Prüfungssystem „ItemManagementSystem IMS“ ( angelegt und dann auf die Serverkomponente von tOSCE übertragen. Von dort aus werden die Prüfungen auf die iPads gespielt, die danach auch ohne WiFi-Verbindung benutzt werden können. Wenn die WiFi-Verbindung wieder zur Verfügung steht, werden die Daten automatisch zum Server übertragen und können dort für die Auswertung angezeigt werden. Netzwerkausfälle sind daher kein Problem und können die laufende Prüfung nicht behindern. Zusätzliche Screenshots, die bei jeder Bestätigung jeder Bewertung automatisch erstellt werden, werden für die Dokumentation zusammen mit Prüfer-Kommentaren zur Dokumentation als PDF gespeichert. Kommentare können als Freitext, mit Hilfe selbst definierbarer Textbausteine, per Finger oder Stift, als Sprachaufzeichnung oder als eingescannter Mitschrieb hinterlegt werden. Mit dem tOSCE Presenter können Sie zudem Studierenden Medien auf einem anderen iPad präsentieren - ferngesteuert durch eine Leiste innerhalb von tOSCE.
