MEDIEVAL II brings Total War’s compelling mix of massive real-time battles and intricate turn-based strategy to iPhone and iPad. Set across three continents during the turbulent Middle Ages, spectacular conflicts and scheming rivals line the path to power as the great kingdoms of the medieval world vie for supremacy. Be it through diplomacy or conquest, trade or subterfuge, you must secure the resources and loyalty required to rule an empire from the shores of Western Europe to the sands of Arabia.

Unlock up to 17 playable factions and build them into major world powers through statecraft, subterfuge or all-out war.

THE KINGDOMS EXPANSION
Available via in-app purchase, this massive expansion includes 24 playable factions across four unique, fully featured campaigns. Wage war from the jungles of the Americas to the deserts of the Holy Land, from the deceptively gentle shores of the British Isles to the frigid Baltic plains.

THE HOTSEATS & HALBERDS UPDATE

Such a shame that an epic game such as this has so many bugs. Armies disappear or can walk on water. Fleets appear on land. Games that crash time and again. Feral should feel a responsibility to do better I think..

Great game and a good port controls-wise but siege battles are very clunky and often crash. (some fields inside cities are also inaccessible even though there is nothing blocking it). Makes the gameplay way more annoying especially due to a big part of the game being siege assaults.

I wrote a positive review for Total War: Rome but Total War: Medieval II is even better. More complex, a lot of tasty things to do aside from fighting battles. Religion plays an important role and unlike the assignments in Total War: Rome, you are free to choose to discard them.  Diplomacy is a bit wonky though that doesn’t spoil the game. Turn-based strategy and exciting realtime tactical battles. Tactics matter: it is possible to win even if your side is outnumbered, using your wits is important. Graphics and sounds are cool, although the accents in the voice acting are a wee bit corny. Minor gripes, major fun.
