I was a previous user of Touchable. It was. Great app. I just purchased Pro today and cannot get the download of the required server software which needs to be installed on the PC for this to work. From posts on their forum, it appears the devs are not responding to support questions nor updating the app. Do your research before you buy. Hopefully a dev May offer support to get the required download file. Else, I’ve wasted $30
Not sure what happened but this once-great app appears to now be abandonware. Links on the site to the server software are non-functional. Forum posts go unanswered. Feeling really stupid about upgrading yesterday and losing $30. Refund anyone? (I’m more than happy to revise this rating if the developer wakes up and updates their site.)
After purchasing this application from the App Store, I found out that the developer has abandoned the project and is no longer supporting it so I paid $39 for something that does not work. I will be demanding a refund from Apple and requesting that they take this product down since it’s just scooping up money from people and doesn’t actually do what its supposed to do.
Downloaded the server.exe from their website on my pc and now my pc freezes within 10 sec of booting EVERY TIME. I should have listened to windows when it said the file was malicious but I saw the dev response saying that’s ok. Now I’m going to have to wipe my pc. Do not download this virus of an app whatever you do.
Does what it says it does….really really well. Not sure why this app has anything other than a 5 star rating. I’m running Ableton live 11 version 11.2.6 on windows 10 version 21H with an iPad. Installed perfectly. Works perfectly. No problems at all. Only thing I can think of re: the other reviews is that people don’t know how to follow basic install instructions????
Easily one of the best music production apps ever created for iOS. In many ways it is a superior control surface vs Ableton Push 2. In particular the touch screen approach combined with a high resolution tablet grants you unlimited control off session view grid. Far more flexible than the Push’s 8x8 grid, and every clip is fully labeled. Edit the piano roll in ways that cannot be done with Push.
And I couldn’t even get it to work. What a piece of garbage this app is.
It is immediately obvious the amount of time and care that has been put into this app. Most of the bad reviews here seem to be folks that either don’t understand how to install the app properly or aren’t hooking it up right. I use this app to perform and live loop and it has never let me down. I have a gigantic ableton set and it navigates the set quickly and with grace. The custom control section is especially powerful when combined with the split screen features. Customizable, powerful, and easy to use. I hope more ableton users get on board with this incredible app!
Utter junk, waste of money
I recently updated my touchable server script to version 1.749, Only to discover that the iPad app Version is 1.727. I don't understand why this happens if everything is updated from the company at the same time. I've used touchable over the past several years as I am disabled and unable to use hardware controllers. Please update soon. I would really like to start working on my next project. I'm giving two stars for the state the application is in presently. When it is running again, I will revise this review.
