Eight years ago touchAble defined what a touch controller app for Live could do. touchAble Pro has been reimagined and recoded from the ground up, incorporating years of feedback from musicians at every level. 

touchAble Pro provides a cleaner interface, allows much more powerful customisation and gives you the deepest access possible to Ableton Live. 
From waveform views to editors to automations - with touchAble Pro, you now have the complete Ableton Live experience literally at your fingertips. You can perform and edit without ever touching a mouse, you can customize your experience to access exactly the controls you need to edit or play. You’ll gain complete control that’s as portable as the smartphone, tablet or laptop you’re carrying with you.

touchAble lets you access all of Ableton Live via simple, robust connections, either wired or wireless, and provides access to nearly every aspect of the software. touchAble Pro builds on that support with an updated interface for all of the features that made touchAble popular:

- Control the transport, metronome, cues, and quantization
- Trigger clips and scenes and control looping
- Arm, mute, and solo tracks
- Adjust monitoring
- Mix, pan, crossfade, and control sends and returns
- Play instruments with grid or piano-style layouts, with scales, note repeat, aftertouch, and velocity (based on finger position) 
- Control device parameters, using faders or assignable X/Y pad modules
- X/Y Pad: assign physics, make and morph snapshots or even record full gestures
- Navigate Live’s Browser, and drag and drop Devices and samples

This used to be the best iOS app for Ableton by leaps and bounds. However, it is no longer being maintained by the developer and is currently in a barely functional state especially since the release of Ableton 12. Worst of all, no competitor has taken its place and now there is a serious gap in the market, with no viable multitouch controller apps for Ableton in existence, at least not even close to what Touchable was.

I was a previous user of Touchable. It was. Great app. I just purchased Pro today and cannot get the download of the required server software which needs to be installed on the PC for this to work. From posts on their forum, it appears the devs are not responding to support questions nor updating the app. Do your research before you buy. Hopefully a dev
May offer support to get the required download file. Else, I’ve wasted $30

Not sure what happened but this once-great app appears to now be abandonware.  Links on the site to the server software are non-functional.  Forum posts go unanswered.

Feeling really stupid about upgrading yesterday and losing $30.

Refund anyone?

(I’m more than happy to revise this rating if the developer wakes up and updates their site.)

After purchasing this application from the App Store, I found out that the developer has abandoned the project and is no longer supporting it so I paid $39 for something that does not work. I will be demanding a refund from Apple and requesting that they take this product down since it’s just scooping up money from people and doesn’t actually do what its supposed to do.

Downloaded the server.exe from their website on my pc and now my pc freezes within 10 sec of booting EVERY TIME. I should have listened to windows when it said the file was malicious but I saw the dev response saying that’s ok. Now I’m going to have to wipe my pc. Do not download this virus of an app whatever you do.

### ***** "How can anyone use Ableton with this????"
Does what it says it does….really really well. Not sure why this app has anything other than a 5 star rating. I’m running Ableton live 11 version 11.2.6 on windows 10 version 21H with an iPad. Installed perfectly. Works perfectly. No problems at all. Only thing I can think of re: the other reviews is that people don’t know how to follow basic install instructions????

It is immediately obvious the amount of time and care that has been put into this app. Most of the bad reviews here seem to be folks that either don’t understand how to install the app properly or aren’t hooking it up right. I use this app to perform and live loop and it has never let me down. I have a gigantic ableton set and it navigates the set quickly and with grace. The custom control section is especially powerful when combined with the split screen features. Customizable, powerful, and easy to use. I hope more ableton users get on board with this incredible app!
