TouchOSC is a modular OSC and MIDI control surface for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad by hexler.
It supports sending and receiving Open Sound Control and MIDI messages over Wi-Fi and CoreMIDI inter-app communication and compatible hardware.
The application allows to remote control and receive feedback from software and hardware that implement the OSC or MIDI protocols such as Apple Logic Pro/Express, Ableton Live, Renoise, Pure Data, Max/MSP/Jitter, Max for Live, OSCulator, VDMX, Resolume Avenue/Arena, Modul8, Plogue Bidule, NI Traktor, NI Reaktor, Quartz Composer, Supercollider, vvvv, Isadora and many others.
The interface provides a number of customizable touch controls to send and receive messages:
Faders / Rotary controls / Encoder controls / Push buttons / Toggle buttons / XY pads / Multi-faders / Multi-push / Multi-toggles / Multi-xy pads / LEDs / Labels / Time & battery displays
Additionally the program can send Accelerometer data. The application comes with example layouts and completely custom layouts can be constructed using the free TouchOSC Editor application.

Warning: no buildin editor, also needs iOS updates
Although iPadOS is perfectly capable to access USB drives or download files in the browser, the manufacturer of this software has not associated the .touchosc file extension with the app, and not built in a filebrowser, though Apple provides APIs for that. So the only way to install templates is by installing a desktop app on an external computer. This is so 2007 and iPad software shouldn’t be like this anymore. Can we please fix this?

Fantastisch deze app, in combinatie met hun programma op m’n Mac kan ik zo m’n eigen midi interface ontwikkelen voor m’n live setup als toetsenist
Total waste of money!!
The app simply doesn't work. It's all over with bugs!! I regret every euro I spend for this app!!! Don't buy this stuff but spend more money for better software and hardware!!
WiFi or usb
It is a good app but it would be nicer if it could be connected not only through WiFi but also with USB or Bluetooth because it is impossible to depend on an (Often) unstable connection while performing.

Je kan hier een controller mee maken voor al je software die met osc of midi signalen werken.De touschosc editor moet je op je pc installeren om de layouts mee te maken en daarna kan je deze in je ipad openen.Het is het makkelijks om gewoon de touchosc bridge driver op je windows pc te installeren om verbinding te krijgen en ook als het kan een directe wifi verbinding met je pc maken voor het beste resultaat.

I use this app to control the lights in our club. With a custom layout I have total control over all intelligent lighting just sitting at the bar.
Best app
Best app ever. Need some time to know how to use it. You need osc editor on your computer and sync but its great.
Great for studio and on stage use
Works great integrated with ableton and traktor. Loads of templates to be found online. Setting up might not be as easy for starters.
