Came included on my new Tacoma. Doesn’t work with CarPlay on. App is awful. For the cost, it’s very disappointing. Video quality is mediocre at best. Toyota needs to fix this asap. Why bother adding this if you didn’t do some quality control on the software side.
The idea of having an integrated DashCam is a great idea, but why bother if you’re going to make an app that’s not going to function. I swear a middle schooler can develop an app better than this.

I’m not sure why you just can’t have a dashcam that auto feeds to the app like every other camera system. I don’t have time to sit in my car and review and download. I shouldn’t need to go get something that will read a mini sd card so basically everyone who paid for this upgrade got screwed
The Bad: The connection to the dashcam is incredibly finicky. You must ensure that android auto and apple CarPlay are disabled first, and even then, 3/5 times the app will just get stuck on the connecting animation. I have to kill it a few times and retry before it actually connects. The ugly: • The app needs constant location permission to connect to the dash cam. This is an invasion of privacy, and users should be able to access the dashcam without enabling location. • Data transfer is SLOW. So slow, that the preview feature is non-functional. It’ll play 2 seconds of video before buffering and eventually just failing to play altogether. It’s much faster to pull the SD card, walk it to my laptop, and watch the videos there. This dash cam and app combination are one of the worst offerings on the market. It’s a $500 option on Toyotas, and it performs worse than every $100 after-market offering.
Very flaky getting connected and painfully slow when downloading videos.

Does not connect. It says to retry connection every single time.
Don’t bother. The app is junk.
Setting the connection is a bit tedious, but can be done by disconnecting from Bluetooth. My issue is that files are not being saved and cannot be viewed on the app. I’ve even gotten a replacement memory card just in case that was the issue. Nobody has been able to help me out 🤷🏻♂️
