Trade Me: Property, Jobs, Shop

I’ve been using Trade me for 21 years now as a professional and a private seller and it gets worse every year. So many unnecessary pages to click through and a lot of functions or relists can’t be done on the app or the desktop. I find it almost impossible to add photos from my iPhone or iPad. If you are listing on marketplace it just works every time except you have to deal with the idiots on there. Gonna to basics TM and sort it out.

Have been using Trademe for years and it’s been great, however this latest update (June ‘24) has removed so many features and lags terribly. It’s impossible to edit categories after listing, and you can’t see any information about the listing without going into it (previously could see views, watchers, bids etc now it’s just blank). Also having issues with not getting push notifications for messages within the app despite them being turned on in settings. Overall very disappointed with the update and will probably be looking for alternatives rather than using it from now on if it’s not changed. If you haven’t already, don’t update it :) The customer service is also increasingly bad, have had an influx of scammers (even when only allowing authenticated buyers) and trademe have been incredibly unhelpful and they don’t do anything about trying to get people to go through with trades. Very frustrating as a seller.

24/5/24 Quite disappointed with trademes latest update. I use this app almost daily and there app was very user friendly until this most recent update. No longer can you see how many views, bids and watchers you have on without opening the listing. Listing adjustments are very limited now. App is horrible to use. Customer service is hit and miss mostly miss tbh. Messaging doesn’t send notifications. All in all was a very good app until the update

When I want to see a specific bike make ,you end up with every dealer listing that may or may not have that one bike but you can end up scrolling through literally 1000 or more other bikes I’m amazed at how many Harley Davidson come up when your looking for anything else

absolutely love the concept of TM but forever have issues with it freezing or lagging, failing to load refined filters etc this happens both as a seller trying to edit and as a buyer refining searches. Has always done it no matter what update came out. It’s my only app that does it. The new watch list list thing is also very annoying just ones gone I don’t want a pop up every time I add something

New strings don’t have Te Reo Māori localisations!

What this app does not tell you about their vehicle trade-in feature. So you find a car you like, you decide you want to trade-in your car, you fill out your details and hit send. This app takes it upon itself to send not only your details but an estimate on what they think your vehicle is worth to the car dealer, they do not share that info with you. Trade Me estimate of your vehicle is at the lower end of what you think your car is worth. The car dealer runs with Trade Me estimate, chops it in half and sends you an offer. Thanks to Trade Me your left with a trade-in only worth a quarter of its true trade-in value. Stop sending estimates to car dealers they should figure it out themselves.
