Trainline: Cheap Train Tickets

I was so excited to use this app for my 7 week summer trip with my 3 daughters. I meticulously planned months in advance, but because of this app, we were met with every possible disaster! Our (first class!) train from Berlin to Prague was cancelled; absolutely NO NOTICE was given, NO REFUND given, and we were left scrambling to find another way to Prague. Other occasions, I’d made reservations, but had no option to buy SEATS!! So we were forced to stand in the aisle for FOUR HOURS. This app is nothing but trouble & disappointment. Beware! Do not use!!

Made All Of our trip plans on your APP…. Train from GTW to SOUTHAMPTON, Bus up to LONDON. And now A train from Victoria Station back to GTW AIRPORT!! Very easy and efficient!!! Thank you.. wish we could stay longer!! London was Spectacular!!!

We had a three part trip from Rome to Pompeii. After getting a train to Naples, we had a bus to a second train, which went to Pompeii. The bus terminal was not shown until 5 minutes before departure even though the bus terminal was 10 minutes away. We sprinted and still missed it. Trainline won't refund us saying it's impossible. Of course, they are lying. A company can refund anyone for any reason. They are a scam.

Multiple problems with prepurchased tickets using this app. Train operators often change schedules, station platforms and connections. Nothing was updated on the app causing us to miss 2 connections and pay $200 to get rebooked. Any Trainline corrections are sent via email shortly before some changes. No notifications through the app or texts and live updates are nonexistent.

The platforms for Italy are inaccurate. I missed my train and the app has no way to request a refund.

This app is such a disappointment. They prey on tourists who aren’t aware of the true cost of train fares. I was in Germany recently. I had already purchased a couple of trips with this app, then I became aware of the app the locals used. Trainline was charging $200 usd more for 5 people than what the other app charged. Do your research and ask the locals. Buy rail passes as much as possible, and avoid this scamming app.

I purchased 1st class tickets from Trainline in Scotland, going from Edinburgh to Inverness. Upon the train arriving, there was not even 1st class seats on the train. Thus, I paid for something that didn’t even exist. When attempting to get a refund, they refused because “my tickets had already been scanned” which I did because I still needed to catch my train. Trainline is pathetic, wouldn’t recommend using them. Go elsewhere for your train tickets.

using this app i’ve attempted to book several trains over the course of the month and always, whether i’m a guest or i’m logged in, no payment methods work. travel credit card, paypal, none work and there is no explanation as to why. useless app
