Used and funded by many of NZ's regional councils it provides project coordinators, volunteers, and landowners the ability to each play a core role in dramatically improving the environment we live in. The app is your on the ground tool for mapping, locating and managing trap, monitoring site and bait station records: - Simplified data entry (no more spreadsheets) - Seamless on-line / off-line synchronisation (no network coverage required) - Built in 5 minute bird count functionality - Real time status of installations - Scheduling and daily logs - An array of base maps including topographic, street, aerial and parcel boundaries - Integration with many remote monitoring tools (such as econode and celium) To get started you will need a Trap.NZ account and a project. It's free, so sign up and join or create a project at then see our App help section - Trap.nz takes away the need for in-house GIS skills and for larger projects removes the many hours of managing spreadsheets. Providing evidence and accountability for funding becomes trivial. With a Trap.nz project you get: - User management (control access levels, assign traps etc) - Access to powerful reporting including Heat Maps (all at the click of a button) - Printable maps (great for non-techy team members) - Reporting across multiple projects - Import and export data at any time (for use in other systems) Trap.NZ is provided by the passionate folk at Groundtruth Ltd with the amazing support of: Northland Regional Council Auckland Council Hawkes Bay Regional Council Taranaki Regional Council Predator Free Wellington Taranaki Mounga Project Project Janzoon Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) NEXT foundation Regional Council Biomanagers Group WWF ## Trap.nz Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple124/v4/dc/07/50/dc0750f2-f410-be82-56c9-96e67fb8cf49/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple124/v4/79/c4/07/79c4072e-e5bd-9149-f9bc-ddfd28a319d1/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple124/v4/fa/db/5b/fadb5b2a-6d82-6d86-6758-b0a53f7eca5e/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple124/v4/18/e2/6c/18e26ca0-c8c4-1990-8699-28e887db131a/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple124/v4/13/59/ad/1359adc8-1170-870e-6a83-384b9cda0746/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple114/v4/36/c6/d2/36c6d2cc-1b15-0f60-c8e1-e7a5c2bb743f/pr_source.png/1242x2688.png) ## Trap.nz Rating Breakdown in New Zealand - 5 stars: 8 (31%) - 4 stars: 2 (8%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 5 (19%) - 1 stars: 11 (42%) ## Trap.nz Reviews in New Zealand ### **--- "Still flawed, which is a pity" Still a lot of flaws on iOS. GPS is jerky, takes three pushes to get indicator to correct location and I can only get app to stop using GPS if I restart my iPhone. Also only shows traps I have placed. Seems a shame no progress has been made in two years to fix known issues -- Rogerxnz, 2024-11-10 ### *---- "Keeps crashing" When turning on location settings get a blank screen on iPhone. This happens frequently. I don’t what to be tracked always on this application so turn off as setting “only while using” doesn’t logout after use. Lots of flaws. Getting past this as check my traps daily, may resort to pen and paper recording as app is so bad -- Nz one, 2024-10-24 ### **--- "Terrible" Can’t get it to load. Then when I can, it stores information incorrectly or has issues storing. -- jewelzsun, 2024-08-15 ### *---- "Completely useless" One of the worst apps I’ve ever tried to use. More problems than I could list -- just let me change my picture, 2024-05-09 ### ***** "TrapNZ vs excel or notebook" There is a lot to say about pros and cons of TrapNZ vs excel spreadsheets and or notebook pad and pencil. Yes there are some data / synch / appearance issues - versus the ability to hold and record all data on a mobile tablet in the field. We’ve been using this since 2021 and love the ability to hold all data in one place for 300 traps and bait stations. Groundtruth - Keep up the good mahi. -- Viking_E, 2024-04-23 ### ****- "Increasingly useable!" Becoming increasingly user friendly thanks. Great to see the total catches over time on out line. -- Unky the skuxx, 2024-03-26 ### *---- "Useless off line" Totally useless. Won’t work at all on iPhone anymore. Got worse with every update now should be zero stars -- $tan54, 2023-04-28 ### *---- "Oh dear!" Unable to upload my first trap location and picture details- endless tries. Clunky. Intuitive it is not. -- Taras a Bulba, 2022-10-28 ### *---- "App is broken" Uninstalling as broken beyond use -- annoyed 13537839057, 2022-10-11 ### **--- "Hard to use (traps not loading)" It’s a great tool but the iOS app has allot of flaws. I’m not able to view or edit traps on my assigned line (it works on the online version). I can only see traps I place. -- the 2nd joe, 2022-07-30 [View all Trap.nz reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Trap.nz Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Free | New Zealand | Productivity | #136 | ## Apps Similar to Trap.nz - [2degrees NZ](https://apptail.io/app/2degrees-nz-WND/new-zealand) - [Slingshot](https://apptail.io/app/slingshot-rsW/new-zealand) - [Orcon](https://apptail.io/app/orcon-tsW/new-zealand) - [Site App Pro](https://apptail.io/app/site-app-pro-usW/new-zealand) - [Downer Survey](https://apptail.io/app/downer-survey-xsW/new-zealand) - [Kiwi Coast](https://apptail.io/app/kiwi-coast-Kjcc/new-zealand) - [Tātou Field](https://apptail.io/app/tatou-field-Mjcc/new-zealand) - [Datacom Data Centres](https://apptail.io/app/datacom-data-centres-Lrcc/new-zealand) - [HawkEye Mobile](https://apptail.io/app/hawkeye-mobile-Frsk/new-zealand) - [Auto Link Bluetooth](https://apptail.io/app/auto-link-bluetooth-UaUk/new-zealand) ## Trap.nz Available In - [New Zealand](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/new-zealand) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/australia) - [China](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/china) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/united-kingdom) - [Ukraine](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/ukraine) - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/trapnz-vsW/united-states) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
