## Trauma Brace Description
** What is it? **

Brace is a full, end-to-end program for people who are struggling after a trauma. You do not need to have a therapist to use Brace, and you do not need to have an official PTSD diagnosis. Regardless of your trauma type, or whether you are a soldier or civilian, Brace was designed with you in mind. 

It is based on techniques that have been studied for decades and are proven to help reduce symptoms after a trauma. Brace makes these techniques available in a self-help format by providing instructions, help and tracking as you progress through the exercises and make your way to graduation, which typically takes about 5 sessions per week for 9-12 weeks. In a clinical setting, the majority of PTSD patients who follow these same steps see a significant reduction in symptoms. 

Brace was developed by a PTSD survivor who wanted to make this knowledge more accessible and affordable for other sufferers. This type of therapy typically costs $7,000+ but full access to Brace is less than 1% of that. Brace will start with an assessment that can help you understand how severe your symptoms are and whether or not the full program might be a good fit. Only once you see your score and complete the free introduction will you be asked to decide if you’d like to pay to continue with the full program.


** Who is it for? **

Brace is for anyone struggling after experiencing something traumatic. Some examples are:

- Assault
- Terrorism
- Severe accident
- Loss of loved one
- Abuse
- Life-threatening illness
- Healthcare maltreatment
- Natural disasters

If after the trauma you’ve been experiencing some of the following symptoms, you might need help processing what happened:
- Nightmares
- Insomnia
- Flashbacks
- Panic attacks
- Physiological response (high heart rate, heavy breathing)
- Hyper-vigilance, or feeling super alert
- Irritability or outbursts 
- Feeling cut off from people or activities you used to love
- Difficulty concentrating
- Lack of intimacy
- Feeling detached or unable to experience positive emotion 
- Overwhelming guilt or shame
- Self-destructive behaviors

Just remember that trauma processing is really hard, and even though it may feel like your life has been upended, your symptoms are inherently temporary. With the right strategies and techniques, PTSD can be beaten, which has been proven by decades of research and the founder’s personal experience overcoming trauma. Hopefully, Brace can teach you how to heal. Just like with traditional therapy, the exercises can be tough, but the more you put in, the more you can get out!

### ***-- "Not sure what I would be paying for"
Hey so, I feel like this app has the potential to be extremely helpful. I think the intro video before asking for payment was a good idea but it doesn’t give enough info for me to judge if it’s worth $20 or not. Perhaps you could go into exactly what kinds of exercises people would be doing or make the first day of activities for free, so people can get a sense of what they’re actually buying. For all I know this could be completely unhelpful. I wouldn’t want to pay for that. It could also be very helpful but $20 is more than I want to take a gamble with.
