The airline changed the departing airport and for some reason this app will have the airline communications sent to them and then send their own flight change email to you. However, the communication is bad and does not highlight major changes such as change in airport resulting in us missing the flight as we ended up at the wrong airport. The service staff are also not empathetic and just quotes policies to refuse any refund.

I  understand that my flight got cancelled by the airline but as a THIRD party service provider, I would expect more from a service recovery or not even just SOMETHING there is a reason why i book via trip and not the AIRline itself, its because i can earn coins and upgrade my membership tier.. what good if my tier doesnt come with benefits like eg, airline cancels the flight and was given the worst case senario and i even explained the situation i was in and all 3 OPTIONS were not meeting my needs… yes my service provider was. Wonderful however i did not call to seek for an apology, sorry a thousand times also i got it but what are you going to do about it? I needed solutions not solely only EMPATHY..

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience using Trip.com.

I encountered a clear issue during booking where the system refreshed unexpectedly, causing me to lose my intended flight selection. When I rebooked, the price and date options had changed. Shortly after completing payment, the original option reappeared at a lower price, which strongly suggests a system inconsistency.

However, Trip.com’s response was to simply deny any system error and close the case without offering any meaningful investigation, flexibility, or goodwill solution. Their reply was generic, dismissive, and entirely one-sided.

What’s worse is the complete lack of accountability. As a paying customer, I expected at least a fair review or partial support, not a rigid “no issue found” response followed by case closure.

This experience shows:
	•	Poor system reliability
	•	Zero ownership when issues arise
	•	Weak customer service recovery

For a platform that claims to provide “reliable service,” this is far below expectation.

I would strongly caution others to think twice before booking through Trip.com, especially if you value post-purchase support.

If you use the website on a private and secure browser compare the results of hotels on the website, you’ll see that the hotels and available prices are very different. Sometimes, they even show prices that are much higher which nullifies the final discount. So don’t trust the % discount they claim to give!

When traveling, this app also consumes a crazy amount of data. They gave me a free 500MB e-sim, but all the data was used by Trip.com when checking hotel address or even the flight timing. Crazy app. They charge you even more if you desperately need data while STUCK in an unknown place, which shows how EVIL and immoral they are.

Finally, their new chatbot is the most useless thing ever. You can never fix your issues, and it is just a waste of time. Imagine being trapped in the airport, but Trip.com refuses to solve the problem, instead blames the airline or even the airport!

I recently had my first experience purchasing flight tickets through Trip.com, and unfortunately, it turned into a very frustrating and disappointing situation.

I mistakenly purchased a student ticket, not realizing that it came with strict eligibility requirements. As a first-time user, there was no clear warning or proper explanation during the booking process. The only difference was a small icon and a slight price variation, which made it very easy to overlook. There was no clear prompt asking me to confirm whether I was eligible for a student fare.

When I contacted customer service, instead of resolving the issue, I was redirected to the airline. However, the airline informed me that they could not assist and that everything had to be handled through Trip.com. This back-and-forth between both parties was extremely frustrating and unhelpful.

In the end, I was told that I could not convert the ticket or get a refund. The only option given was to cancel the ticket with a penalty fee of $200, which is completely unreasonable considering the small price difference between the regular and student ticket.

This experience felt very unfair, especially for first-time users who would not be aware of such restrictions. A proper booking system should include clear warnings or confirmation steps to prevent such mistakes. Instead, I felt misled and unsupported throughout the process.

Overall, I am very disappointed with the lack of transparency and poor customer service. I hope Trip.com improves their system and takes more responsibility in assisting customers to avoid similar situations in the future.
