I recently got a new phone and number and decided to redownload Truecaller, which I previously enjoyed for its free features. Those days are gone. Now when you enter your phone number and name, they then push a paid subscription to use the app. I don’t think it’s worth paying for, and I dislike apps that aren’t upfront about their costs. It use to be free and didn’t cross my mind that it would ever become like this. Based on poor reviews, they should’ve kept the basics free and charged for new features instead. I Uninstalled.
Why does this app collect so much personally identifiable information? It’s on the extreme end of most apps on the AppStore. There is no justification for this and I can only imagine a canned response from the developer that they “respect our privacy and will never share information”. If they did, they wouldn’t be collecting it in the first place. And why is it nearly 240MB?!?
I haven’t received any spam calls or text since i installed. I was put off by all the bad reviews but it seems to work. I’m quite happy with it and I’m keeping it
The app is full of 1 stars ,that tells you a lot
It’s forcing me to subscribe to premium when it’s normally doesn’t
Nowhere in the app does it say that it needs money but imposes payment info while downloading the app. Why? I do not need the premium features then why do you require the credit-card info? Ridiculous!
Says try the app for free but then charges you for it and if you have auto purchases on you're screwed.
This app is scam
