The truTV Apple TV app is awful. Makes me dislike the truTV network. The app forces you to restart an episode when you exit the episode. It doesn’t bookmark where you left off. WORSE YET, IT FORCIBLY REPLAYS ADS. EACH AND EVERY TIME. Can’t turn off the closed captions. Horrible viewing experience. The team that developed this app should be forced to use it for eight hours a day for a month. If I could rate zero stars, I would.
I have never written a review for an app before but felt the need to say this is a terrible app. I was trying to watch the end of a basketball game and it just went on a 3 minute cycle of endless ads. wasn't able to watch any of the game!

Loads says sign in I push that button just spins no program no way out useless. Obviously created by the same ido that created (?) tbs and tnt app. All equally useless.

I downloaded this app to watch Adam Ruin's Everything because it is the only place available to watch the show without buying the entire show outright. To say my experience with the app was terrible is an understatement. For one; the app will frequently have bug, causing issues with the interface. On the topic of that interface, I find it very hard and clunky to navigate. It's made even worse by the fact that episodes are listed from newest to oldest, meaning if you want to watch a series from the beginning, you have to scroll to the bottom and select each episode, rather than just having it autoplay. The app also frequently logs me out of my tv provider, and sometimes when I try to log back in, it just doesn't work at all, and I will ne unable to watch anything due to the app logging me out. I am stunned at how poor quality this app is.
The app constantly crashes, locks up, signs itself out, goes unresponsive, lags and has issues rewinding and fast forwarding. Long story short it needs some major TLC and updating.
Interface is horrible. There’s no way to access the closed captioning button while watching live sports to turn it off. Also no airplay features.
No way to change closed captioning in the AppleTV ui, and any attempt to get to the “CC” icon on the screen leads to another 15 second pre-roll ad. Maybe after 10 pre-rolls in 5 minutes you could turn that off.
