The app is good but it sometimes thinks easy problems are hard or hard problems are easy. Today for example the easy daily problems were harder than both medium and one of the hard ones.

I don’t understand what I’m supposed to be learning from this. Basically it shows your position, and you guess, and either you guessed right, or you keep getting it wrong until you finally hit the enter button. And you repeat that until suddenly it says “solved“ without telling you what about what you’re seeing is solved.It sure doesn’t look solved to me. I don’t know what I’m supposed to be learning from this, but I’m not learning anything.

Nice enough interface, plenty of puzzles, barebones. Agree with other reviews that I could use a little more than a “correct” sometimes, e.g. when the answer is seki: I’m usually pretty sure it’s supposed to be seki, but it would be nice to get a confirmation. Or “your solution is seki, but it’s possible to live/kill.”

I very much agree with goodtutor’s review. I like the daily problems and the right or wrong feedback. The app is very clean and an appealing space to solve problems. However, it would be so very nice if there was some sort of feedback on why a problem reaches the “solved” state.

I do think the app is useful “as is” to learn patterns in the game. It does enable the user to learn to recognize given patterns and associated responses.

I also like that additional possible actions are considered. Each problem is designed to lead you down the best path, but you can take alternative actions that help the user understand possible outcomes.

I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but some of the problems that appear on the new problems page are incorrect. When I figure out the problem such that it says solved, I would continue with white and I don’t see a way for the problem to be solved for black. Not sure what that’s about, and pretty annoying

Starting out with easy problems and ending with the pair of hard ones is a nice way to start the day. I try to solve all 6 every day. Apparently this app has been around for some time. I just started using it and I like it. For the brave who want to practice solving problems with a clock try BadukPop (more expensive)
