CARING FOR OUR TĀONGA:

New Zealand is home to some of the world’s rarest and most remarkable birds, found nowhere else on Earth. But their habitats face constant threats from predators, urban expansion, intensive farming, and a changing climate. That’s why we created Twitcher — to share their stories, raise awareness, and give our remaining manu a fighting chance.

We’re deeply committed to protecting our natural tāonga, and that's why every premium upgrade helps to support New Zealand's vital bird conservation efforts. By supporting healthy ecosystems and thriving native wildlife, we can help ensure that future generations will keep on twitching.

## Twitcher Reviews in New Zealand

### ***** "Very easy to use."
I really like this. My son and I use it to keep an easy record of NZ birds we find when we are out and about. I’m thinking though they may not have all the birds out there in nz on this app so hopefully they will keep updating their selection. But happy overall
-- we are eggs, 2024-12-31

### ***** "Best app I’ve downloaded this year"
Lovely design, clean and simple. Does exactly what I want it to - including call sounds, images, key information for each bird. No more, no less, just right. Ka pai!

Would be good to include somewhere in app to report the odd bug found as some of my filters aren’t working. Habitat and name preference are displaying no results when selected currently
-- Beczoid, 2024-11-11

### ***** "Love this app!"
I ended up buying the full version of this app and it’s so great.
The only thing I’d add is the option to see more pictures of the birds.

Thanks!

### ***** "An excellent field guide"
I had been looking for an electronic equivalent to the definitive books I grew up with and this is it.

I have only two issues with it.

First is that the Latin names are too difficult to read. They are pale and in an overly cursive font.

Second, I could find no support link in the app to report the above issue, and when I used the one in the App Store it lead to a Facebook page.

### ***** "Great app"
But only one M in IMITATE!
-- Ettenna 1944, 2023-11-05

### ****- "Excellent identification app but…"
Comprehensive with excellent search and filter functions.
Would be improved with:
More photos of each bird
Maps of distribution, nesting sites for seabirds (ask Birds NZ)
-- Allenjmm, 2023-09-19

### ***** "A great app!"
A wonderful guide of NZ birds. Great photos, and helpful to have the bird calls to listen out for.
-- wilkie25, 2022-11-18

### ***** "Great way to learn!"
Has been a great guide for learning about New Zealand birds + understanding what different NZ birds are endangered. Highly recommend!
-- Dans Diaries, 2022-10-27

### ***** "Awesome app"
Beaut design, easy to use, ka pai!
-- nicksbirdpics, 2022-10-27

### ***** "Great app for bird watching and ID in NZ"
Lots of information and easy to use.
