UAFX Control FAQ
Is UAFX Control free?
Yes, UAFX Control is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is UAFX Control legit?
⚠️ The UAFX Control app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
The app itself is an absolute pain to use with the OX STOMP. Precise adjustments are impossible to achieve with the sliders. Even more frustrating is how difficult it is to demo different sounds. — Want to spend 30 seconds trying out a cab? Oops, the phone went to sleep and now the app has disconnected from the pedal. Please start over — The OX BOX has a desktop app. It is ridiculous that the OX STOMP does not.
After updating pedal firmware, I can’t connect to the app
Was working fine. Now o can’t connect at the latest firmware, did everything the faq said to do and still
Accessibility is a big problem in this app
I've had no success contacting UA about the accessibility issues with this app. Not sure where else to turn. This app is very hard to use with the built-in iOS screen reader VoiceOver.
I give UA some points for being able to change the presets with VoiceOver, but trying to use the edit page for the OX Stomp is a torment: It is impossible to change the values of some of the sliders, mic EQ and delay feedback being prime examples. And why some? It is also impossible to turn the delay and reverb on and off with the app, or to tell which things, delay, EQ bands, etc, are on or off.
The last issue I'll mention is that while using VoiceOver, multiple pages appear to be on screen at once. Give it a shot: tripple click your home button to turn on Voice Over while in the edit page for OX Stomp. Drag your finger around the screen. You will hear items that are actually not still on the screen such as the list of your other UAFX pedals. It's even possible to remove a pedal from your app from within the edit screen!
I own six of these pedals. And frankly I think VoiceOver users, those who are blind or low vision, deserve a better experience for what these pedals cost.
Can’t Use on iPhone 15 Pro
It crashes whenever it connects. Every 👏 single 👏 time. I would love to be able to adjust my Lion 68, but I guess that’s not in the cards.
Works great here
Using this app with the MAX Preamp & Compressor pedal. Bluetooth connects quickly and reliably on both my iPhone and iPad. This app works as expected with useful features. No issue updating firmware from my MacBook Pro (took only 2 minutes - quick). Overall, very happy with the pedal and this app. One feature request - on the iPad version, support both portrait and landscape mode. I gig with my iPad and it would be nice not to have to rotate from landscape mode, to use this app easily. Beyond that - great job UA.
Super buggy
It WORKS, but a lot of times it’ll either just not load, or the preset name editor just doesn’t save.
Love UA but they REALLY need to work on this app.
Bad app, critical to products, no effort?
what I don’t understand is with such consistently horrible reviews, United audio doesn’t seem to be making any changes or exerting any effort to address the situation. I would caution anybody from buying these products. They’ll probably abandon the app entirely when they have their next new idea, they are likely to become very expensive boat anchors.
Unusable
Not only is the app unusable, but it's rendered the pedal unusable as well.
I have the UA Dream65, and I was using it without issue yesterday, then came back today and it does not work. I touched nothing, changed nothing, but when I open the app it says to plug in the pedal to update. It's annoying, but sure. I update the pedal but now when I open the app it crashes every time I try to select the pedal.
Now there's nothing but static coming out. I could live with a poorly functioning app, but I cannot live with an app that renders the pedal useless
I was very excited about this pedal, but now I simply cannot trust it
Support an afterthought
If you’re going to charge $400 for top quality pedals, you need an app that actually WORKS! When it does connect it’s fine (that’s the second star), but most of the time the poor Bluetooth connectivity prevents you from using the features of your gear. Absolutely no way you could gig with this 😡
Unexpected crashes
Crashes all the time when trying to select pedals. I have all 4 amp sim pedals and the problem is universal. Please fix this app. We all spent way too much money on these pedals to be limited by a garbage iOS application.
