Landshark Performance Reviews

Used to be good

Echoing Hue_pl! Was a long time user but abandoned for the same reasons, come on Matthew… I understand the need for funding but this does not support your once loyal customers.

Shame it’s sub only now (pretty much anyway)

Surfer1488 on

Used to love the app but for me, an occasional flyer, maybe 1-2 times a month, I can’t justify subscribing. Shane as it was a really good app, just need to find another one for weather specifically for drones. I see with a lot of the reviews ppl are saying the same thing. I understand things cost money and those costs are going up but for me I won’t be paying for the app for the amount of time I use it.

That ended badly

Subs only had rendered the app useless unless you pay…. Rarely use it and now won’t use it ever again.

Used to be a great app

UAV Forecast used to be an amazing app for finding local statistics, for drone flight, even with the limited free data, it was great for understanding the safety of a location, but ever since the app incorporated emphasis onto subscription plans, the quality of the service has exponentially declined, favouring additional and extraneous monthly monetisation over providing a decent application, regardless. By all means, you should support developers, especially independent ones, for their devotion when producing genuinely useful products, but to degrade the experience for long-term users simply due to their inability to cost the expense for a monthly plan is disgusting. If you can afford the plans, I’d 100% recommend it, but simultaneously, as personally not being able to and unwilling to support a developer who neglects long time users, I won’t be returning until serious changes are considered and implemented.

Deleting this app as it’s now useless to me

JakeySnakey12345 on

I’m a recreational drone flyer and I only fly occasionally and I used to use this app to have a quick check of the weather but since it’s moved to a subscription only model I can’t justify the cost. I realise it’s not a high cost but as I don’t fly regularly there would be some months I’d end up paying but not using the app. Shame.

Unusable as a hobbyist

Andrew on

United Kingdom

Was recommended to look at this app as a newbie to flying, but there is no free option to see anything - you *only* get to use it if you *subscribe*. As a newbie, I don’t know how much I’m going to get to use in in the next 7 days, so the trial period is useless to me. Won’t be buying any form of subscription, and can see there are alternatives in the App Store to try so will be uninstalling this and moving on. In response to developer reply: I don’t have any interest in your business model. I would be prepared to pay a one-off fee for simpler features, but the subscription model makes it completely unjustifiable - as previously stated. The no fly zone is freely available in a number of places so adds no value, doesn’t justify having a whole app otherwise unusable for.

Deleted due to subscription change

JaminW on

Used to be a great app supported by ads. Now requires an expensive subscription to get any weather report. Deleted!

Developer greed = deleted app

EmmaVin on

United Kingdom

I enjoyed using it before they forced a subscription on you. I’d be happy to pay a one off fee or put up with ads but I don’t fly enough to pay a subscription and I don’t like the way they sneakily did it. Deleted.

Unreliable and dangerous for drone user

Billy EP3 on

United Kingdom

Inaccurate weather information and dangerous for anyone using it for drones. Avoid at all cost!!

Was good when free

Mintymagic on

United Kingdom

Was quite a useful app but the last update they’ve made it to a subscription basis where you need to pay. Let’s face it, you can look at weather for the actual time. I can understand pre-paying for future forecast but then they’re going to be wrong as the Met Office can’t get it right with all there tech
