It is programming-free and super simple to setup. It offers all the controllability required for operating your home entertainment system in the majority of AV scenarios. Use your phone or tablet as a universal remote, allowing you to choose which source you want to watch and where, with all the various functions for each device shown on screen, with familiar button layouts and gesture control. uControl can be personalised with by setting background images for each zone/room (such as a photo of your living room) and you can choose a light or dark theme to your preference. The ‘U’ in uControl stands for a lot of things; ‘Unintimidating’ in that it’s easy to set up and simply intuitive to operate for the end-user. ‘Universal’ in that it works with any IR device and ‘U’ as in its designed and bespoke for each MHUB installation. If you have a problem don’t expect any support at all. Emailed them several times and no reply, no contact number either. The app is over 4years old, pretty much says it’s all. Cheaper products which probably do the job better. I’ll be looking at alternatives on my next purchase. -- Runariot, 2025-10-06 ### *---- "It should replace your TiVo Virgin remote…but no" The app remote won’t swipe/navigate left as a Virgin tv subscriber! It renders searching, selecting programs/different tivo boxes/general menu navigation totally useless, so u need to sit with your clunky old Virgin remote along with (actually instead of) the app to navigate the menus (rendering app pointless). Many other useful buttons on the original remote not replicated on the app. For this money, and the amount of times I’ve complained thru my engineer, I would currently not recommend at all. From a hardware point of view; I’m also on my third matrix in 18 months, totally unrobust. really not ideal given the upper 4 figure cost. Last box under guarantee took ages to be replaced. -- TonyInHertfordshire, 2021-07-14 ### ***** "Great product and great app!" We use UControl and an HDANYWHERE HDMI hub to control our Sky box, DVD player, Chromecast, a couple of AppleTVs, and our 2 PCs - the selected source places to any one (or more) of the 7 screens around the house! The app is awesomely easy to use, with the source-specific iR control pack being well suited depending on the source selected. It’s intuitive and convenient - and no clutter! Love it - thanks HDAnywhere! Furthermore, there was a small issue with the system not working with a brand new model of TV - but the brilliant support team got that sorted for us within two days by making an updated iR pack available, with polite and prompt comma throughout - very good customer service. -- Hfnrirjfht, 2021-06-25 ### ****- "Works a treat minor improvements needed" Ease of use 5 stars Stability 5 stars Reliability There are some tiny glitches in the ip addressing that sometimes causes the mhub to require a reboot but 5 stars. Improvements Adding more than one mhub would be a great asset. Some homes have had the early version mhub pros and might not see the need for an upgrade to a 8x8 but to add in another 4x4 or even and 8x8 but the app doesn’t support that. HDAnywhere is a U.K. company and is doing a great job distributing AV around the home. The app is just like the company, great and improving all the time! -- RoyStenhouse, 2020-11-26 ### ***** "UControl is so easy to use." It’s a really easy to use app that enables me to control all my devices from my phone. It also makes the initial set up of the MHUB super simple. Great App! -- Shak Omar, 2020-07-23 ### *---- "Update has stopped Sky Q pack working" Since the update I cannot change the channel/ change source on any of my Apple devices -- TommyRuss, 2020-06-22 ### *---- "Stopped working after latest update" Latest update has made devices disappear from most of the zones in my setup. Was working fine before. -- wiseowl73, 2020-06-21 ### *---- "Update" Just updated and lost everything nothing works what a waste of money -- shirl213, 2020-06-21 ### *---- "App is useless" The new update has made our app not work as there sources have now disappeared so we cannot use the app at all other than turning on a display. Such poor software/QC for such as expensive piece of equipment. Prior to this update the app was very slow and we always had to wait minutes for it to catch up. Sometimes wouldn’t work at all. -- James_B1510, 2020-06-20 ### ***** "Excellent" App works well - very easy to setup and matrix source switching is brilliant! -- Alexg6578, 2020-05-27 [View all uControl 2016 reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to uControl 2016 - [Texecom Connect](https://apptail.io/app/texecom-connect-UrJ/united-kingdom) - [On Pro](https://apptail.io/app/on-pro-csWb/united-kingdom) - [CentroControl](https://apptail.io/app/centrocontrol-bRec/united-kingdom) - [HouseMate Home Control](https://apptail.io/app/housemate-home-control-zbWc/united-kingdom) - [Polypipe Smart](https://apptail.io/app/polypipe-smart-lsNd/united-kingdom) - [Aurora AOne](https://apptail.io/app/aurora-aone-NSKe/united-kingdom) - [Ekinex Tool](https://apptail.io/app/ekinex-tool-VbNh/united-kingdom) - [NETVIO GO](https://apptail.io/app/netvio-go-aIPh/united-kingdom) - [Capture by ADI](https://apptail.io/app/capture-by-adi-ZdHn/united-kingdom) - [Rako](https://apptail.io/app/rako-QfCp/united-kingdom) ## uControl 2016 Available In - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/united-kingdom) - [Argentina](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/argentina) - [Austria](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/austria) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/australia) - [Belgium](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/belgium) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/canada) - [Chile](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/chile) - [China](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/china) - [Cyprus](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/cyprus) - [Czechia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/czechia) - [Germany](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/germany) - [Algeria](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/algeria) - [Egypt](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/egypt) - [Spain](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/spain) - [Greece](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/greece) - [Hungary](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/hungary) - [Ireland](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/ireland) - [Israel](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/israel) - [India](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/india) - [Italy](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/italy) - [Kuwait](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/kuwait) - [Kazakhstan](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/kazakhstan) - [Lebanon](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/lebanon) - [North Macedonia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/north-macedonia) - [Malta](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/malta) - [Mexico](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/mexico) - [Norway](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/norway) - [New Zealand](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/new-zealand) - [Oman](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/oman) - [Peru](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/peru) - [Philippines](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/philippines) - [Pakistan](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/pakistan) - [Poland](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/poland) - [Qatar](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/qatar) - [Romania](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/romania) - [Russia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/russia) - [Saudi Arabia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/saudi-arabia) - [Sweden](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/sweden) - [Slovenia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/slovenia) - [Taiwan](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/taiwan) - [Ukraine](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/ukraine) - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/united-states) - [Vietnam](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/vietnam) - [Armenia](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/armenia) - [South Africa](https://apptail.io/app/ucontrol-2016-BbWc/south-africa) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
