## UDOT Traffic Description
The UDOT Traffic app provides commuters and travelers with mobile access to information for Utah roadways from the Utah Department of Transportation's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).  The available information includes:

1) A zoomable, scrollable map-based display
2) Current traffic conditions on Utah's freeways and major surface streets
3) Accidents, road construction activities, and other hazards
4) Special events that affect traffic (sports events, etc.)
5) Current road weather conditions and road weather forecasts
6) Seasonal road closure status
7) Closed-circuit television (CCTV) traffic camera images
8) Electronic roadway sign messages

UDOT's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) uses technology to save lives, time, and money.  

It is a computer-controlled system designed to monitor and manage traffic flow on freeways and major surface streets. System components include CCTV cameras, electronic roadway signs, traffic speed and volume sensors, pavement sensors, and weather sensors.

### **--- "Have always loved it but now more confusing."
User friendliness is lacking. It's confusing and takes studying! Shouldnt be that way. Should be intuitive and it's dizzying for the average person. New drivers need easier to understand options etc. I also should have to log in every time I bring up the app. Just too confusing as an app. Too much to rocket science! Please simplify!! All in all I have always loved this app. IDOT has a great app, sorry. I was hoping it would be that easy for the average man. Probably fewer functions but there are Proffessional truckers, and Proffessional drivers and then just humans. Maybe there needs to be one for all types of users.

This app has so many bugs and is harder to use than the older version.  It was helpful, now it is impossible to use, information is not as abundant, and interface is difficult especially when on the road.

With the new version, if you click into a camera, you have to hard close the app to get out of that view. It’s missing the back button! Love some of the upgrades but this version seems very glitchy

This app is terrible. Traffic camera map barely functions, hangs badly when it does, always requires closing and reopening app multiple times. It is not a hardware issue, and none of the app updates improve quality or performance. Just like everything else UDOT does, they blew this app badly.

The camera labeled as 7000 S and Redwood is either pointing the wrong way or it is mislabeled. The view is south on redwood toward 7600 S. The walkway is viewable and there is not one at 7000 s Redwood.

The old one was more user friendly.   This one is complete opposite and full of bugs.  

With the lack of response to the reviews, it’s obvious UDOT doesn’t care.

It would be awesome If this app actually worked. The old one was way better. I depend on this for mountain operations at snowbird and it’s turned into absolute garbage. Every time I open a camera I can’t close it and have to close the app. It’s super inconvenient to open the app 13 times to see what’s going on in the canyon.

I used this app all the time before the new features were added. Now it’s worthless. I don’t want to enter my destination, switch to drive mode or have 14 different layers. I want to see road conditions/travel speeds any incidents I should be aware of with the option to view a camera.  I’ll zoom to the road or area I want.  Basically the old version. Give me back the “basic old” version.

I used to use this app when traveling between the SLC area and other parts of the state. I often drive alone, so I could call someone and ask them to check travel conditions on the app. Now, the app doesn’t allow me to do that - I have to put in my destination before it gives me any information. I don’t want to share my personal travel information with strangers. Please bring back the usability of the older version!!!

At least on the older version you didn’t have to log in every time just to look at cameras-I don’t have an app on my phone that makes me log in as much as this one does. I don’t want to put in a travel plan-I just want to look at a few cameras so I know where to avoid. Ugh
At least we can still see the cameras.

App was great and easy to use. Then they updated. Impossible to do map+traffic cams now. Used to take 3 seconds now it takes 5 minutes if you can even figure it out. 

Insane levels of incompetence to ruin this app. Sure they blew millions on it too.

Updated version is absolutely useless and confusing. It’s hard to follow and even figure out or find what information you need when navigating through traffic. Just make a simple and easy to use app that is straightforward and user friendly please.

This app is useless. It requires a username and password now just to see traffic incidents and cameras. It’s harder to navigate compared to the old app, especially on a cell phone. If you need traffic updates or weather conditions, look out the window and what you see is better than the this trash. 

 UDOT wasted tax payer money on this, and won’t go back to the old app. They are better off deleting it entirely and not doing anything. They even have the audacity to say that they are making improvements, but the last update was 8 months ago.

They updated the app and made it almost unusable. You can barely see the tiny color bars of traffic now. It takes forever to load. Give me back the old app please.

This app used to be the place I looked for traffic up and down Provo Canyon every day to monitor canyon road conditions. No more. It’s the worst app for road conditions and now demands you enter an address, as if I need one more map.
It now gives very little of the information about road conditions. I used this for years to help me decide when travel was best and now I will stick to Waze or Google Maps - even Apple Maps is superior to this dumpster fire of an update!
It is near impossible to find the camera function anymore on this app. The app is so bad, it has given false assurance there were no delays when accidents were reported and the roads were closed between Provo and Heber, and had been closed for OVER an hour.

Dont waste your time on this app. UDOT, you ruined a usable app with this update.
