## Uniden R/TACH Description
Take your driving to the next level with the R/TACH™ app! Seamlessly connect to your Uniden R/TACH radar/laser detectors, including models R4/R4w, R8/R8w, and R9/R9w, and effortlessly customize and fine-tune your detector settings.

When you pair your Uniden R/TACH detector with the R/TACH app, you'll receive real-time alerts directly on your Device Screen. Stay ahead of potential threats with instant notifications and easily control alert events like Mute and Mute Memory from your screen.

Drive with confidence using the Map Screen Mode, which provides location awareness for known red-light and speed camera spots. Mark User Locations on the map to get notified as you approach points of interest. Plus, enjoy Lifetime Free Updates to the red-light/speed camera location database with your Uniden detector.

Connect your R4w, R8w, R9w detector to your home Wi-Fi network (e.g., in your garage) to conveniently update your detector’s firmware and red-light/speed camera database. Simply set up your home Wi-Fi SSID and Password in the app's Wi-Fi Settings to stay current with the latest updates. (Note: R4/R8 users will need to download the R/TACH Tool from Uniden.com for free firmware and database updates.)

## Uniden R/TACH Reviews in United States

### *---- "Horrible product"
Had the r7 and it turned on once n never worked after. Didnt even get to use it once. Dont both with app or their products cuz if ur paying 450$+ n it doesnt even work …
-- h8Tmobil, 2025-01-10

### ***-- "Good start - needs more features"
Love the app so far but really need CarPlay support and other features added
-- 1655604, 2025-01-01

### *---- "Bad- GPS Error: 1 (Star)"
Immediately after successfully connecting the my R8 to R/Tach app (with current firmware) I started receiving GPS Error: 1 and an occasionally GPS Error: 2.
I was excited for the app, but wasn’t worth breaking my unit over.
-- BMW4me, 2024-12-08

### **--- "Does not work well with IPhone"
The toggle switch in the settings menu does not work. When toggling on or off, it automatically defaults and does not save new input. Example: MENU: EXPERT OR BASIC I CHOOSE expert on the toggle switch and it reverts back to basic even pressing “set”
-- TakiZ06, 2024-12-04

### *---- "R8?"
Can’t connect to R8 what’s the point of the app
-- cut sdfggg, 2024-11-19

### *---- "Not connecting to R8?"
I know this app is brand new, but would have thought it’d at least connect to the detector. Their website says the R8 is compatible (along with the R8w)
-- brncndlr, 2024-11-09

### ***-- "Adjusts settings only"
It seems to be at adjusting settings, however the map page needs massive improvements to be anywhere near functional. Also, the app does have an option to prevent screen lock so it is only useful for a minute or so when driving. Hopefully this is just the start with significant improvements on the way.

### ***** "Brand New to uniden"
Just bought a R8W, and received it within 24 hours. Fantastic shipping. Did the install with my existing power hook up and everything everything went flawlessly. Connecting from the app to the right out detector was super simple with the instructions provided. Check to make sure it was on the latest firmware, which was super easy. Connected it to Wi-Fi, which took 15 seconds. Just make sure when you’re connecting to Wi-Fi you join the Wi-Fi on your phone that you want the radar detector to join so it easily picks out the SSID. Overall user experience has been great. Looking forward to using my new Uniden.
-- Sad-ible, 2024-11-08

### *---- "No updates via BT"
I appreciate the effort but without the ability to update firmware or database in the RD via BT the app falls short of other existing apps.

The inability to update via the app is most impactful for those like myself who are unable to use the Uniden MacOS app as it is currently broken.
