It first appeared remote access enabled was required to use this app and the standard ubiquiti support even said as much.  However the mobile team shared how to access the console from this app with remote access disabled.  Create a local account on the console then log out of your ubiquiti account in the app if you were logged in. I had to give invalid info to get a new option to pop up at the bottom for proceed locally. Tap that and use the local account login info and you’re in with remote access still disabled.

The latest update seems to have introduced the ability to change the push notification sound, which as stated in the app, affects all notifications except the doorbell ring. However they missed giving the ability to change the doorbell sound, so now it’s the generic boop sound that all my other notifications are and I completely miss doorbell presses now. Previously doorbell rings used to make a unique boop boop bing bong sound, similar to what my chime does.  Please fix this!

It seems that one can’t trigger a recording without an alert. For some reason you can set zones, but not assign behavior or the,pm (e.g. record only zone 1  record and alarm on zone 2) badly needed feature. Alarms are driving me so crazy I have to turn them off

Also, support is incredibly slow. It takes three days to get a reply. For the price of this product, I expect much better.

There’s a lot to like about this app, but it has a glitch on iOS (2.7) where you cannot limit notifications to just one camera. As there are 13 cameras on our system, this really decreases the usefulness of the app. I have been in contact with their support team for three weeks, and there is still no resolution. Frustrating.

I decided to go with UniFi since we use their networking equipment at work.  The system is nice I like that even without internet the system is recording.  But I do nice miss tagging items like animal and people. And our car will get picked up sometimes but not all the time.

I’m using my cameras having connection only with my local network to my U DVR, and I like to cut it off from the internet using different brand firewalls router. I have remote connection to my local network and can control all my devices through U controller locally, including video from my cameras, but I can’t  receive any Activity Notifications. Can you please make possible for people like me to be able to receive Activity Notifications from Our cameras, and what’s more important, notifications from Our U Doorbell. Pleeease😅?
