In dot points.

1. No means of return point of contact with the doctor. What kind of  health care platform that doesn't allow continuous dialogues between patient and the doctor? All you have is a general all in one email contact address and that's it.

2. Automatic CUT OFF / HANG UP within 10-12 minutes of phone call. Appointments feel rushed, and dismissive.

3.  Unconstitutional - due to non return point of contact with (the sub contractor), I had to lie in front of receptions amidst radiology appointments whenever I am asked “when are you going back with your doctor?”. 

4. Half of doctors unhelpful. Only Few are helpful. (Names / registration number need not mentioned) - if you are reading this you know who you are - if you said you recommend a referral then actually put that into ACTION and actually provide me a referral.  

5. Another unconstitutional experience - “Out of scope”. The worst of CX and UX experience - no follow up context or reasoning at all. You are paying money so that others help you facilitate control of your OWN health. Not to let others control you. That’s what this platform is exercising the latter  ~ belittling and infantilising no differently than the entire medical system. 

Four months of jumping through hoops. Nothing is resolved. 

In this day and age, be especially aware of SAAS / service as service in health care setting. When and if reviews seem positive - be prepared to face an exception. 

I certainly do have faith that the subcontracted GPs operate on good intention. But very sad they are placed under a system  designed to treat patients like a conveyor belt.

You think you are getting a once off charge but they sign you up for a ongoing subscription. I booked a once off consult, and was unaware they signed me up for their Updoc Pro subscription. No email communication indicating I was on a subscription, no receipts for charges to my card, only marketing spam. The best bit is I was apparently subscribed to Updoc Pro, listed at 39.95/month on their website, yet I was charged 79.95/month! When contacting complaints, I have received one generic response about “transparency “ then nothing more. Do your research online about this company, lots of complainants about the same thing. SCAM!

Other cheaper options are available there is no need to pay constant ongoing subscription costs for a service you’re not constantly using. The other options have a per use cost that is cheaper than this subscription. This is designed to make them a lot of money not to help you

Worst experience ever!! Charged 3 times, got a consultation 2 days later by doctor Darren Lam who intentionally gives me a med cert for the wrong days saying they don’t backdate med certs more than 1 day. Doctor Darren Will take your payment and try and avoid giving you a medical certificate.

Got charged for a Telehealth consult that never happened… no call, no contact other than confirmation that I was in the queue and would be seen within the hour (maybe slightly longer)… after 6+ hours of no communication, I requested a refund in line with the policy on their platform. Magically, 20 minutes after sending this email, I have a medical certificate for a single day in my emails.. But still no telephone appointment? I am sick and paid to speak to a doctor in hopes of help getting better but have had a med cert thrown at me as no one could be bothered to call, despite me paying for it? No care for the patient and scamming for money. 👎🏻

I needed an urgent script for a basic antibiotic while away on holiday. The automated email reply after booking and unfortunately  paying said response time was ‘up to a few days’.  This app isn’t for urgent care.  I found another service and a Doctor called me and issued an instant script within 10 minutes of completing the online form.

I live in a regional area where it is notoriously challenging to get in to see a GP and the closest ED is always a very long wait. 

The process with Updoc is so streamlined, easy and efficient, and I absolutely prefer it over the traditional way of going in to the clinic (if I could get in) and being around sick people unnecessarily. A literal life saver of a service.

I used this app to make a one-time payment for a medical certificate but ended up being signed up for a subscription without my clear consent. Despite the company claiming their subscription model is transparent, I felt they were taking advantage of users by making this option easy to overlook during the payment process. It’s unfair to assume people would want a subscription for something as unpredictable as needing medical assistance. What’s worse, they charged me even though I hadn’t used the app beyond my initial transaction. I strongly advise anyone considering this app to be extra careful during checkout.
