Nice replacement! Needs some updates

I was using EverNote but they’re pricing is too high. This is like a lighter version of it which is great because I didn’t use all of the Evernote features anyways. Just needed an intuitive note taking experience and this is it. In terms of improvements it would be nice to be able to undo a change. But having version control is amazing. It would also be good to be able to make an already existing notebook a sub notebook. You can only create a new sub notebook. And I want to be able to have special characters in my titles. Specifically forward slashes. When I imported my notes the slashes were removed. Also the bullet point lists act very weird half the time.

Formatting needs work.

One of the most annoying things with notation app is you often find yourself fighting with them for formatting and it ruins really good apps. I stopped using Craft docs for this reason and I’m now running into it with Upnote. An example is if I have a list and I’ve switched from number bullet to symbol sub-bullet - this part is fine. When pasting text in (because there’s no copy and paste and match style on iPad) sometimes this will throw formatting off so instead of continuing with the nested bullet format, Upnote strips all bullet point symbols (even though the toolbar shows bullet point enabled there’s none on the screen). When you try to backspace to get the non-bulleted item back on the line with the previous point (which IS bulleted) and return to create what should be a new bulleted point, it does not retain the formatting and again you have the nested item just floating with no bullet point. This seems isolated to the iPad app, as I don’t run into it as much on the Mac. Update: this is also happening when mixing bullets and numberings. I can’t use numbers for major headers and bullets for sub insets because when you try to go back to the numbering system it starts back over at 1 instead of having that continuity and again you spend so much time fighting the formatting - it’s very reminiscent of Microsoft products where Word tries to “predict” what you want to do but in doing that it’s actually making so much more work because it’s often not what you’re trying to do and to go back and try to undo the predictive formatting is so tough and time consuming.

I Have Found My Note App!

CC95051 on

I recently got to the point where I was no longer willing to suffer with the note taking app that I had been using for nearly 20 years. That other app kept increasing prices and adding distracting, annoying and pointless interface changes and adding other features that I did not need or want. So, I did a fairly exhaustive search for a new note taking app to use for work and personal use. I looked at over 10 well-reviewed alternatives, and finally found UpNote. It is perfect for me. It has a simple, straightforward interface. Syncing works very well. It handles large numbers of notes and did a great job of importing my previous notes. Now I can focus on making clear notes, recording information so I can easily find it later. Further, I emailed in a question and got an effective response the same day. UpNote is great and definitely worth your time to learn it and transition to it. Very highly recommended!

Awesome!

I was looking for a one note alternative. I've tried numerous note apps. I came across this via a Reddit thread about the best note apps. So I tried it and after adding a few notes and reading up on the helpful notes, I decided to buy the lifetime Version. I am quite impressed and Upnote is much better than One Note.

Great note’s app.

App is underrated. It does a lot of things most renowned apps don’t. Plus, the price is very acceptable for what it brings. Only thing I wish developer will add is reminder.

Best app of its kind.

The people who made this app just get it! Beautifully simple, has everything you need to organize projects and ideas, embed photos, tables, it’s great! My only wish is that you could easily drag notes into a different notebook, instead of having to move them through the menu. Highly recommended!!

One of the best cross platform note organizers.

windbite on

I really like how seamlessly the cross platform exes to retrieving my notes and being able to combine information from all the various devices I’m on. I do wish it had more direct user accessibility control such as being able to send a file in whatever format you wish such as PDF or photo or saving it individually. It would also be nice if you could select like which cloud storage or home storage you would like to back everything up to the biggest issue I have run into is it will not let me re-title a note or the label it after it has to one. I don’t think I’m doing something right obviously And hopefully I will be catching onto more efficient ways of using this app as it is showing more promised than the other ones I have paid for.

Great app but too much white space

Great app but there is too much white space on the list view. Would love a way to import all my Apple notes with attachments as well.

Best cross-platform note app

Kevlar1 on

United States

UpNote is by far the most Apple-like note app that works across just about any devices (e.g., Windows, Android). Syncing of the notes is almost instantaneous and trouble-free. If you are completely within the Apple ecosystem, I still prefer using the Apple note, but if you need to use non-Apple device within your workflow, this is the best option unless you need raw power of Notion or Obsidian.
