I work 5 miles from my house. I don’t know when I will drive 325 miles or 16 hours. Would argue texts are more distracting. The app literally does not have the code in place to do this. There is NO WAY to enable motion and fitness for the App on an iOS 13 device. And don’t try to get the points back. You brake to avoid a deer, you’re dinged. You respond to a text hands free, you’re dinged. Only option is passenger or driver. So “avoid unsafe driver” isn’t available. No pat on the back. Points dropped, and they drop hard. Pretty much feel like USAA uses this to establish a driving pattern and in future will raise rates if I deviate. The current iOS does not have a Motion and Fitness option under app settings. It wrongly detects phone handling, and harsh braking. Furthermore user diligence in correcting incorrect data is required for an accurate ‘score’ to be produced. I have been using this app for a month or so and initially, I felt it was accurately assessing how I drove, etc. Now it doesn't record all the trips I make. If I drive a route outside my normal weekly route it rates the route lower and mind you at this point I still have less than six combined phone calls hard braking etc. Why does it matter if you answer a call wirelessly without touching your phone? If I drive my wife's car my score is consistently lower regardless of how I drive. Is it good for 10% deduction on your bill maybe but I honestly believe it more of a tracking tool for future accidents. -- Blunova, 2024-12-30 ### *---- "Very Inconvenient" I’m in a golf cart community and I’m constantly having to open the app to respond to drives that are less than one mile. Also, I’ve pull over during a trip to make or take a call and apparently if I’m not stopping long enough it continues the same drive and dings me for a violation. It also considers every hard break as a violation of driving too fast even when the hard brake was the cause of another driver and avoiding an accident. My score doesn’t reflect my true driving habits.
