## USPA SIM Description
USPA Skydiver's Information Manual (SIM)

The United States Parachute Association's Skydiver's Information Manual provides basic skydiving standards (the Basic Safety Requirements) and recommendations agreed upon by USPA members for the conduct of safe and enjoyable skydiving. It also describes the programs USPA administers to recognize individuals for their expertise, ability to train others, and proficiency or tenure in the sport.

Although the SIM provides much basic information for skydivers, each jumper should research further and consult USPA and industry officials, documents, and other produced media, as well as other reliable individuals for clarification and additional information.

USPA MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE INFORMATION SET FORTH IN THIS MANUAL. PEOPLE RELYING THEREON DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.

## USPA SIM Reviews in United States

### *---- "Big Disappointment"
In theory, this would be an awesome app. However, the images / diagrams don’t load.
Example: the SIM has an illustration under the heading of the “Basics of a Rig” — but in the app version, there is no illustration showing the locations of primary points on a skydiver's rig.
In fact, none of these appear in the app.
I’ve deleted the app, confirmed my iOS is current, restarted my device, downloaded it again and still nothing.
I checked with other users and they have the same issue.
What’s up with that?
-- ego enhancement consultant, 2025-06-09

### *---- "Bad"
Awfully designed app, navigation is terrible and this is just a glorified PDF file, so navigation is the one thing that should work well.
-- Yik-Yak-Frat-Attack, 2021-08-05

### *---- "Horrid app that's an embarrassment to skydivers."
Easily one of the WORST apps i've used. Navigation is cumbersome at best, unusable most of the time. (Try navigating to section 7-2, it doesn't even show up). Search is completely non-functional. Just download a .pdf copy, it is way more functional! Or better yet, USPA should offer the SIM, and IRM via Kindle or other e-reader and forego the app all together.

### ***** "Awesome!"
As a student skydiver who is pushing forward to “A”, this is an awesome mobile study guide!
-- David.L.Wang, 2020-08-27

### ***** "Helpful to have"
Used the app more than once. Came in handy when studying for my C license test. Easy to use.
Thanks USPA.

### ***-- "Needs to be searchable"
Not really an app - its just a text document.... Why no search function? That is the main advantage of an electronic document.
-- peroduas, 2012-01-18

### ***** "n00bs"
As a definite n00b to the sport, having this syllabus on hand is amazing. It's perfect for all those times I'm randomly thinking about skydiving during "real life" time (often).
-- NamwenCire, 2011-11-14

### ****- "Not exactly an iPad app"
Saw the app advertised on the USPA website and that it was advertised as an iPad app. It's more for the phone but still awesome to have and even cooler that it's free without annoying ad's within it! look forward to a legit iPad one to be offered!

### ***** "Awesome"
All the information I need and always with me. Oh and it's FREE! 

### ***** "Very cool!"
Now I always have the SIM with me! Thanks USPA! :^)
