## Varsity Tutors Live Tutoring Reviews in United States

### *---- "Predatory Practices"
I purchased hours within a plan. I expressed that we were a military family living on post and was assured that they could work with our unique situation. The tutor was unable to make it, repeated cancellations, eventually COVID hit, we changed stations, and the services forgotten. I recently went back to use the 47 unused hours and they will not let me. I did not even want the money back. I just wanted the hours. Do not use
-- NiecyS83, 2025-04-10

### ***-- "Goof idea, bad implementation"
The tutors I had were great, the platform itself is where I have issues. The website and customer support make it really difficult to delete accounts. When requesting deletion, staff will interpret it as you want the membership cancelled. The process is convoluted and contradicts itself.Maybe because deletion requests are rare. The service is in need of improvement.
-- Akira Ishige, 2025-04-06

### *---- "Errors upon errors upon errors"
Poorly integrated with desktop website and even with itself. I get errors every time I use the app. I’m 0-for-40 when it comes to letting me accept tutoring opportunities that I’ve clicked on immediately after notification. One error message tells me that the tutoring opportunity falls outside of my availability, which is false. All my equipment and operating systems are up to date—> the fault is with the app.
-- The Czexperience, 2025-02-24

### **--- "Horrible tutoring"
The people who had tutored me were HORRIBLE and so rude. My first new tutor was so rude when I asked for help and gave stupid faces and looked irritated when all I was trying to do was learn and be respectful to her.

To include my school recommended it aka Edgar Middle School Metuchen, which did not help at all since teachers didn’t want to help students get better at their lessons.

My second tutor was never on time as well, she needed to take care of her family all the time. When texting her she wouldn’t respond at times.

Overall this was SUCH a bad experience didn’t help me with the subject that I was struggling with I do NOT recommend this app for help.
-- Alisha Singh777, 2025-02-02

### *---- "App is really bad"
There are so many bugs in this app it’s insane. I can’t message my clients because the contact list won’t populate. I hate using this app. It needs a full overhaul.
-- MrDj2U, 2025-01-03

### *---- "GED Student"
If you’re looking for serious people and push to make you feel confident and successful , unfortunately, I didn’t find them helpful. NO REFUND policy & Auto renew plans👎 Teachers are independent contractors. I was enrolled for a class and teacher canceled it right before start time.
-- Sha-Q, 2024-12-14

### *---- "Avoid at all cost"
Signed up for one month and they have kept charging me and are now ignoring my request for a refund. Will be force to file a claim with my credit card company to get my $500+ dollars back.
-- GibsonJV07, 2024-12-09

### *---- "Never trust this company"
My friend Kristina Liventseva bought 4 lessons from this company to prepare for university exams and supposed to have only them. But in one month was charged again without any reasons! We never were told about any subscription by the manager. And we told our manager straight that we only need 4 lessons and that’s it! But this company thinks they are the smartest and can just charge people and then do not give any refunds! So now they are saying they are not giving us any refunds even those did not get any services for those lessons! How does it work? We are founders ourselves and also influencers and we always do our services fair and trustworthy without tricky stuff
-- Anton12345179, 2024-12-07

### *---- "disgusting"
My sister, Kristina Liventseva, purchased four classes and explicitly communicated to the manager that she only wanted those four. Instead of respecting her wishes, the company continuously debited her card for an unspecified amount, without providing any classes. She contacted the manager to request a refund, and was assured the funds would be returned. However, no refund was issued. A second attempt to resolve the issue resulted in the manager denying any refund at all. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I urge anyone considering using this company to be extremely cautious and seek other options.
-- onkkk”, 2024-12-07

### *---- "Awful experience"
Refunds are non existent, if you match with a bad tutor, good luck getting reimbursed. Make sure you read all the terms before giving them your card information.
