VB-AUDIO Software / VBAN-Receptor allows listening to any VBAN Streams in any audio formats (1 to 8 channels) and transform your mobile device in High Quality Wireless Headphone. The integrated 3 bands vintage EQ and Analog Gain Control will give you a unique audio experience.
VBAN protocol is made to transport native audio in PCM format on any local network (LAN or WLAN). VBAN Stream can be generated by Voicemeeter Application, the Virtual Audio Device Mixer (www.voicemeeter.com)

VBAN Receptor FAQ
Is VBAN Receptor free?
Yes, VBAN Receptor is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is VBAN Receptor legit?
🤔 The VBAN Receptor app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I use it everyday, works as advertised and never drops audio. However better features could definitely be implemented. One example is if you take out an AirPod it’ll automatically pause the audio in the app, however the only way to play audio again is to unlock the phone, open the app and click play. The notification play button doesn’t do what it supposed to, and the play button shortcut on the AirPods themselves won’t resume the audio either. Small inconvenience. App works great
Works fine
Works as advertised. I use this for nanny cam audio so I can be in mobile meetings while still monitoring my kids. Have to restart the audio stream once another audio app kicks in to have iOS provide them both at the same time.
Continued check and re-start audio streaming would be a great improvement to the app for audio reliability. May not be possible on iOS though.
WiFi will affect signal as it’s a UDP stream instead of TCP, so dropped packets will not “catch up”. This is by design and is a limitation of wifi reliability impacting UDP packets and not the application.
Recommend cable connection to voicemeeter PC as your walkie VBan “hub”.
Works okay as long as you do not use AirPods.
Audio gets extremely garbage if you use Bluetooth headphones. I tried every setting to solve this but it made little difference. Higher bitrates, lower bitrates, higher latency, lower latency, etc. Nothing fixes it.
Did not work on Chinese model iPhone (Fixed)
Did not work on Chinese model iPhone. I reported the issue and gave a solution to the developer but no response.
(Update in 2020: This problem is finally fixed after 2 years. Thus I am changing my rate from 1 to 5 stars. You need to update to iOS 14 to be able to acquire the network permission.)
Great
Works well for what I needed 👍 FYI for those complaining about airpods; This is due to the latency introduced by bluetooth itself. There simply is no solution available for very low latency high quality audio via Bluetooth. When using this app, it’d be best to stick with hardwired headphones. But this is not a limitation of the app’s performance, so much as bluetooth. You could try ramping up the latency to lessen the dropouts and crackling.
To anyone seeing this using iOS 14
iOS 14 network privacy has changed. This does not mean that the will never work again. The developer responded to me and said that he if fixing it. It’s a good app and I’m sure will work in no time.
Headphones not usable
The app is effectively unusable with AirPods. The audio is distorted and crackly.
I really wanted to like it
Over the years I’ve used this app off and on with multiple iPhone models and multiple pc’s. After all that time I’ve come to finally delete it as it causes massive battery drain and heat buildup on my phone, even when paused and not streaming anything. My upgraded 2300mh battery tanks in half a day just sitting on my desk not streaming anything with the screen off and gets warm to the touch. Multiple pause/play, forced restarts or manual turn off and reboot, forced closing the app and turning off background play, nothing helps. As soon as I deleted the app that problem instantly vanished.
I’m also a little annoyed that it doesn’t use the built-in iOS audio engine so you can’t play/pause the stream from the lock screen or from the control center if you want to hear something else on your phone real quick.
And the last thing, I’m really annoyed at how unstable the stream is. I always thought it was down to my bad WiFi setup in the past in combination with a failing computer. Not only have I tried this on multiple networks over the years but I now have enterprise-level network gear and just built a new powerful computer and the app still can’t reliably handle a 100k/sec audio stream in real time without the ‘overrun’ and ‘underrun’ signals showing packet loss and the audio degrading into an inaudible mess.
Oh and don’t even think about using Bluetooth headphones with this app. Even if you somehow managed to get them to work (it glitched once when a call came in and got routed to my headset) the audio gets so distorted it’s unlistenable.
Overall I really wanted to like this app. To be able to use my phone as temporary portable speakers for a computer I only have headphones plugged into was awesome, when the app worked. But the battery issue alone is enough for me to stay away from it, let alone the other issues I’ve had repeatedly for as many years as this apps been available across 3+ networks, pc’s and iPhones shows this is not an isolated incident and never getting resolved.
Audio quality on airpods
The app works perfectly when using the phone’s built in speakers but the same cannot be said for AirPods or other wireless headphones. The audio becomes extremely crackly and distorted when using wireless earbuds.
Almost Perfect
I love this app/system. It allows me to listen to music, YouTube and Virtual meetings in the office & at home wirelessly where the WIFi will reach.
Only 1 problem. Audio sounds horrible using vban on iPhone with AirPods.
VBAN -> iPhone 10 -> AirPods.
Using wired headphones or any other Bluetooth headphones with vban on iPhone are fine. When using AirPods the audio is very bad. If this were to be fixed, this would get a perfect 5 score.
Thanks,
Customer for life.
