## Vent Description
Vent-Axia Connect - Functions and settings for Lo-Carbon Svara® and Pure Air Sense®/Svensa® via app.

Svara® App Control
Each Vent-Axia Svara® contains a unique code, which is required to pair the fan with the app. Enter or scan the code using the app’s setup wizard. The code may be found on the back of the product manual or on the arm of the pull out motor hub.
When the fan is supplied, it is pre-set to be an automatic bathroom fan with constant trickle flow of 30m³/h and humidity / light detectors which activate to a boost flow of up to 95m³/h.
The app control via Bluetooth gives you the functionality of five fans in one. Via this app, you can set up Svara® for various functions and environments. You can easily set Svara® to function as an intermittent fan which is humidity or light activated. Via the app you can also use a simple calendar function where you can activate various functions depending on weekdays or weekends, such as purge or silent running hours. Fault indication: A red LED on the fan indicates power failure when the calendar function has been activated. This is easily recovered by the opening the app and re-synchronising with the fan.
 
PUREAIR Sense®/Svensa®  App Control
The PUREAIR Sense/Svensa Fan is simple to pair with the VA Connect app. Press and hold the connect icon at the bottom of the touch panel on the fan for 8 seconds.
The icon will flash and the app will prompt to finish the connection set up with the fan.
 
The fan is supplied factory set for optimum use in a bathroom. The app allows all functions of the fan to be monitored and fully customized if required, to suit different environments and situations.
The icons in the app represent the icons on the touch screen of the fan and provide clear indication as to which function, or functions are running.
 
Individual function boost speeds can be adjusted, as well as the timer, it’s delay and the sensitivity of the light, humidity and odour sensors. Airing function activity settings can also be adjusted, as well as choosing between intermittent and continuous fan modes.
The fan can also be paused or boosted with dedicated app buttons. The pause function can also be customized to different timings if needed.
Real time monitoring is also active in the app, showing the fan’s current air pressure status. This will change as different functions become active.
 
When the app is in use, changing the settings on the touch panel is not possible. Head back out to the main menu of the app and the fan will re-activate the touch panel.

Sentinel Kinetic Advance® App Control
The Sentinel Kinetic Advance® WiFi controller (supplied as standard with SX model) must first linked with the app before it can be used. The new device wizard guides the user through this process, involving connecting to the product’s WiFi hot-spot, then connecting securely by scanning the QR code (or entering the security key manually), as printed on the WiFi controller.
Once connected, there is the possibility to boost the Advance for a period of 15/30/45/60 minutes, configure scheduled modes, silent hours and summer bypass operation, monitor the temperatures and heat recovered by the unit and check the status of filter-change and service count-down timers.
In commissioner mode (protected behind the same PIN as the product’s touchscreen controller), the app comes into its own by allowing the preset flows to be configured, without having to return to the installed unit. This allows flows at the diffuser to be adjusted and measured in real-time.

### *---- "New app has fewer features and feels unfinished"
I actually like the Vent-Axia unit itself, the hardware works well and I have two installed, both of which perform reliably in normal operation.

However, the updated app is a big step backwards. It now has fewer functions than the previous version, features such as Quiet Night Mode appear to have been removed, which is really disappointing. The new interface also doesn’t look as polished or refined as before. It honestly feels more like a beta development mock-up than a finished consumer app.

Another ongoing issue is after a power cut. When the power comes back on, the unit shows a red light and won’t function properly until you reconnect to it via Bluetooth to clear the fault. Both of my units do this, so it doesn’t seem to be a one-off issue. It’s frustrating to have to manually intervene every time there’s a brief outage.

The product itself is good, but the new app experience is poor and lets it down significantly. Please bring back the missing features and improve the stability and design of the app.

This app wasn’t too bad before, very limited range of adjustments but OK. However it now seems to be updated and you have to add the PIN that is on the body of the fan. I now have cupped this after the 3rd time i had to enter it in 3 months.

Before the latest version the app was slow and non-intuitive. Since the upgrade the App is much slower less intuitive and you have to go through so many actions just to turn on a boost. I have left the boost setting on 10 as the alternatives don’t even make sense. 
The fan itself though is very good even though expensive, the App would be better and more logical if written by a 6 year old.

The new V7 is visually swish but much harder to use. On my fan I can no longer set a default time for overrides and it is not clear how to automatically boost on high humidity.

Rubbish app, which doesn’t seem to have a cloud backend, at least I can only access our MVHR if my phone is on the same WiFi network as this device. If I leave the app and go back to it, the device is no longer listed. I need to force quit the app and then reopen it to once again be able to select my device. There are too many other issues to mention

Recent app update resulted in all the devices being forgotten.

Have not been able to reconnect them yet due to access issues getting to the fans to get the pin again.

### *---- "For Svara fan - expected more control"
The app was recently updated but the update forgot all my device connections so I had to re-pair everything. 
It's now impossible to know what you're actually adjusting. For example, the humidity sensor works on a percentage. 
What does that mean? As you reach 100% is it getting more sensitive to humidity or less sensitive? Does it require more moisture in the atmosphere or less to activate the fan? 

And that leads me to the fan itself. The fan has a mind of its own! It comes on when the room is bone dry and stays off when there's clear condensation.

### *---- "Update Bricked Fan"
The update wiped all of my fans and had to start again from scratch. Had to get ladder and remove each fan module to get the PIN and reconnect to the app. One of my fans completely bricked, no red or blue LED and unable to connect so have to shell out £100+ if I want to replace - what a con! 

Poor skills by the developer, profile fan settings should be saved outside of the app with the option to restore / import as most apps allow you. However we’ve gone back to the 80s computer games with no option to save

After this update. However, I tried reconnecting the fan and it no longer connects (app keeps saying that the device is not pairing mode). Have lost the capability to configure anything. Horrible experience.
