The app does indeed track my bus and reminds when the bus is supposed to be expected. But it has its issues if you actually want to track at a more convenient pace. The app doesn’t update when you have it open so you need to close and reopen it to get an idea for how fast a bus is moving which can be very annoying. It can’t predict when a bus is late and even when the expected time has well passed it still doesn’t update and you’re just forced to make your own prediction based on the bus’s trajectory. Whenever you’re using the map it doesn’t let you change where your expected location is nor your destination. The map is fixed on your programmed destination only which I guess isn’t a problem but it also seems to always want to force your view towards your destination so if you try to zoom out or move the map it keeps trying to force you back to your destination each time you try to look around to find the bus when it’s not on your specific route. Like I said it does help if you’re desperate like me and just need to know where the bus is so you can make moves accordingly but it definitely needs plenty tweaks to make for a smooth app experience.
I used this app at our school we just moved from and it was helpful when it worked, now at our new school we use it too, but it doesn’t tell estimated time of arrival and never updates when open, I have to close it out or get it to load by switching from tabs. Otherwise the bus stays in one spot forever then is way behind on showing where it actually is. I always wondered what “scans” were so today I looked on the App Store and found it’s something I would love IF actually worked! I’ve never had it load scans at either school. I will say although annoying to have to make it update every couple mins manually, I like having it in winter but truly wish it did what it said it would do. But I’ve been using it 3 years and seen all the complaints so it seems they (developer) have no plans to fix or change anything as it’s been the same and the same complaints with no changes. Why our schools don’t get a better and WORKING app is beyond me.
This app is horrible. My kids buses are consistently late and this app never even shows that it’s on their route. I have notifications for scans on and have never seen them populate any data.
It works that’s all!
If you want to know if your child safely made it to school, then this is NOT the app for you. There’s no history, you SOMETIMES get a notification that they scanned
Giving 3 stars as I love the app but it stopped working for my child’s route last spring and still isn’t working. Cannot contact site directly and school and bus company said it’s all in Verstrand’s hands. We loved this and heavily depended on it in the winter months. If Verstrand actually reads this, PLEASE fix the app!!! Inver grove Hts Bus D parent
There no way to retrieve your user name or password if they’re incorrect. There’s not even an option to reset it. If you can get in the app it works fine.
The app work decently for the first week or so of having it. Afterwards it tells you the expected bus arrival time (the time your bus is SUPPOSED to be there) and tells you how late your bus is running but only AFTER the time your expected bus arrival time has passed before the app eventually commits suicide and gives up on any hope of being of use to to you. By this I mean that it will only sit there lying to you telling you that your bus is on time so that you leave your house and stand outside for 20 minutes only to realize that your bus is NOT running on time and that you had enough time to brush your hair and wear sneakers or finish your 30 question chemistry assignment before leaving the house. If you’re looking for an app that’s the perfect representation of 15 minutes of fame, have your way at it. Afterwards, spare your phone the useless storage and delete it or risk developing high blood pressure from how many times you get angry at the app in the early morning or hypothermia from standing outside in the cold for way to long for no reason.
Come on. It’s ridiculous that it doesn’t work half the time.
