Ich interessiere mich sehr für AIS und die Möglichkeiten damit. Bin sogar Antennenoperator für Wood Mackenzie. 
Und trotzdem nehme ich fürs Navigieren oder zum Informieren den kostenlosen Account und die App von Kplr/MarineTraffic – um Welten besseres Erlebnis.

Seit dem Update funktioniert die Version für das iPad nur noch schlecht bis mäßig! Da funktionieren die kostenlosen Programme wesentlich besser.

Leider werden nur Passagierschiffe mit dem kostenlosen "Free AIS" Account angezeigt. Alle anderen sind sehr sehr teuer (900,- EUR /a aufwärts).
Was mein Vorrezensor schreibt stimmt zumindest aktuell nicht mehr: es werden keine Anmeldedaten vertauscht und das erstmalig zugeteilte Passwort ist jederzeit änderbar.

Nach der Anmeldung ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Kennwort zum Usernamen gemacht wurde !! Auf eine Antwort wie ich den Usernamen ändern kann, warte ich schon seit Wochen. Eine Beendiung der Registrierung wird auf der Internetseite garnicht erst angeboten. Hinzukommt, dass alle Anmeldedaten, ohne Zustimmung, allen Usern angezeigt wird. Ich kann nur davon abraten sich bei dieser dubiosen Firma zu registrieren oder die App zu laden !!

Seit dem Update gestern geht ja nix mehr, auf dem ipad nicht und auf dem iphone. Was ist denn jetzt los?

Wer einen professionellen Vesseltracker Account hat, kann mit der App die wichtigsten Dienste auch unterwegs auf dem IPhone nutzen. Ohne Account bei Vesseltracker macht die App wenig Sinn. Für User, die sich nur aus Hobby-Gründen für die Seefahrt interessieren hat Vesseltracker einen zwar einen Freeaccount, der ist aber sehr stark eingeschränkt. Das Angebot von Vesseltracker richtet sich halt an professionelle Nutzer und kostet entsprechend. Dafür unterhalten die aber wohl eines der größten AIS Antennen-Netze weltweit. Das ist schon top. Manche Buttons in der App finde ich schlecht platziert. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne.

Leider total enttäuschende Umsetzung. Für Privatanwender und Wassersportler sinnlos! Ich wäre als (Privat-)User gerne bereit, ein paar Euros zu bezahlen, aber sicherlich nicht ca. 50€ im Monat für die Profiversion!

Nach dem letzten "Down-"grade nur noch Passagierschiffe sichtbar. Leider kann man hier nicht "-" Sterne vergeben!
