Main features of vFlat

Auto-Recognizing of Scan Area
vFlat automatically recognizes borders of documents or book pages to scan. You can get clear-cut scan results from any angle without manual cropping.

Automatic Capturing
It recognizes the scan target and captures automatically without having to press the button repeatedly. Scanning is quicker and easier when capturing hundreds of book pages or a lot of paperwork.

Flattening Curved Pages
It automatically straightens the curved surface of book pages. vFlat Scans as if they were captured with a professional book scanner, without having to taking pieces of the book.

Two-page Capturing
The left and right pages of a book are captured with a single click and they are automatically divided and saved. Get fast results, even when scanning thick books.

Free Text Recognition (OCR)
It converts scanned images to text for free through text recognition. You can copy the converted text and easily share it with friends or colleagues.

Exporting to various formats (PDF, JPG, TXT)
You can convert scanned images into PDF files and image files(JPG) and text files(TXT). You can convert the file into a format suitable for your purpose.

### ****- "WORKS WELL WITHIN LIMITATIONS"
Outstanding scanned images from a book I had to hold open. Much better than scanning in Apple Notes. However, moving images to my Windows PC and converting a txt file to Word is a multi step process. The premium version allows Vflat to do this within the app. I’ll look at the price of the premium level and decide if it’s worth it for me as an occasional user.

This app is a dream come true for me in my role as a librarian. I digitize local history documents and I’m only mad I didn’t find this sooner. Using a traditional scanner per page might be a 30second process but this cuts it down to a second. Can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve used it for newspapers, books, photo albums, etc and I couldn’t be happier with the results and efficiency.

This app is great and I just discovered that when combined with the Full Keyboard Access feature in iOS, it’s even better. I connect a bluetooth keyboard, turn on Full Keyboard Access, then in vFlat press Tab until the capture button is highlighted. After that I just press SpaceBar on the keyboard every time I flip a page. It would be great if they built in keyboard support!

처음에는 앱이 빠릿하고 결과물도 좋고 한번에 600페이지 찍어도 찍을만했는데 
이제는 결과물도 우굴쭈굴하고 한 100페이지 찍으면 발열때문에 찍지를 못하네요

It would be great if this app stopped crashing. I even just did an update and even after the update I scanned 4 pages of a book and it force closes during the scan. Then continues to do so for each scan after I reopen the app. Also it’s not as good as they would have you think at determining the margins of the page and flattening/cropping it at the proper boundaries. It’s better than most but could still use improvement especially when it comes to using the dual page setting. But I already paid for it so I guess I’ll keep it until my subscription is over.

Not much to say except this is perfect for if you need to scan books without worrying about spine damage. If you have no problem saving the scans as photos instead of pdfs, it’s pretty easy to just use the free version.

Paid OCR wasn’t enough sustainability, so the new plan makes the reasonable use of most major features subscription based. Super lame. I’d happily pay $50-100 for a one-time purchase, but I’ll never subscribe perpetually to a scanner.

Progressively removing features over time to squeeze people to subscribe is in bad taste.

I love digitalizing books and I always wanted the best scanning results for my big textbook. A good scanning has many features, including anti-shaking, brightness, contrast, cropping, straightening, etc. I tried a professional KIC book scanner at my university which turned out to be super slow and there was a lot of glaring. Tried Adobe Scan (claimed to be the best), but the resolution was terrible. Tried Scanner Pro, and its brightness$contrast was just disaster; its cropping is also another level of catastrophe. Microsoft Lens is also useless for scanning. However, this app gets everything. Simply the best.

I love, love, love this app!!  You have to pay for the premium version but it makes life so easy to be able to quickly scan pdf pages from text books and technical manuals.  Then you just email it to yourself or to others so you can access those manuals on you computer instead of flipping through the hardcopy.
