We use Viator in every city we visit and it has never let us down. The best tours- art, history, culture- they always seem to connect us with the most wonderful tour guides who are incredibly knowledgeable. Recently, we have used them in Lisbon, New York City, Amsterdam, Prague and Vienna. Would highly recommended!

Read all sorts of reviews before we booked and saw feedbacks on cancelled tours. Ended up getting our $557 private tour cancelled on the spot due to an arbitrary no-show. The operator and customer service tried to trick us into taking the entry tickets (and thus a partial refund), literally charged 200+ dollars for two arena tickets which are €24 on the official website. It is absolutely appalling that Viator tries to make money at the expense of their customers in these unfortunate situations that they have enabled. So book with them if you like NASTY surprises to ruin your day and want to be completely stranded for hours fighting on the phone for a basic refund while getting serious sunburns. It was so egregious I had to voice record my conversations with the operators.

Be sure what you are reserving you activities… for service very hard to reach! And READ carefully all small caps… because
If you want to cancel watch out musty impossible to reach them and after they same too late we will bill you anyway!! If you cancel you activity month before the your are safe!!

For me it is over after my last activity the application will go straight to the garbage!!! Even if I come back in Japon which I will do, I will proceed another way! For me service it is very important!!

I paid for 2 tickets, Viator sent me a conformation that says an email will come. An email comes with a link to get tickets. I click that forwards me to the web that opens my newly downloaded Viator app. It asks me to like with a like to my email address. I click and check my email. I click the link in my email and it confirms me. Then click to continue. The app opens and tells me the link has expired. Resend. After 5 times I could kick myself for trying it a 6th. So still no ticket for tomorrow’s event. I will never use Viator again.

They would not honour the Free Cancelation within 24hours Policy of booking, because there is conflicting policy that you can’t cancel or make changes within 48hours of the event. Conveniently for Viator, the default is to book less than 48 hours in advance.

I was making many bookings in a row, and made a mistake. I booked a tour without updating the date. I had done it so many times that it just slipped by me. Viator’s default is to book for the next available time, in this case it was the next day.
I called immediately to correct this.

All I got was, “we can’t do anything” and “there is a policy”. What about the other policy? I got no help.

I will never use Viator again.
